Brunswick Monster Frenzy Bowling Ball

(22 reviews) Write a Review

The Frenzy’s low-RG core combined with N’Control PowerStock skid/snap Reactive coverstock produces one wild reaction that clears the front and explodes on the backend. But best of all, this wild formula provides the versatility you would expect in a much higher priced ball. With Frenzy, you’ll discover better mid-lane recovery and smoother control – with the length and backend you’re looking for. The combination of skid/snap coverstocks and low-RG core systems has produced some of the most forgiving and broadly appealing ball reactions in the history of bowling. The skid/snap coverstock gets the ball through the heads, the low-RG core system helps to promote mid-lane recovery, the skid/snap coverstock creates a strong backend reaction that is made smoother and more controllable by the low-RG core system. Maximum forgiveness and versatility in a bowling ball.

The top bowler in my league, as I mentioned before, uses his monster frenzy when his fuze igniter over hooks. This is one of the selected bowling balls that actually perform as advertised. It has the most length I've seen, except for the big hit pearl. But, unlike the big hit pearl, the frenzy comes back harder but not over reacts. He bought this ball to replace his monster screamR and they are fairly similar. The difference is, the frenzy goes longer with a skid snap while the screamR is more of an even roll for the same condition. When the alley forgets to oil the lanes, bring out the frenzy!

This ball is quickly becoming one of my favorite Brunswick balls, for me the Frenzy is what the Blazing Inferno was supposed to be. Oh and this is one pretty ass ball Drilling Info, 15lbs, 2 1/2" Pin Drilled 5.5x5, Pin above the Bridge, Cg stacked underneth The Frenzy is another great ball from the Brunswick Monster Line, I love the mushroom core. It revs up soo easily that it feels like it's gaining revs down the lane. It gets down the lane very clean, and makes a strong backend move. The Frenzy is also one of the most versalite balls I've had. With a little less hand and a little more speed it makes a great drier lane ball, still getting through dry heads with ease. And with a little more revs it makes an awesome medium oiler, going longer and having a more angular backend move. The carry is great along with all with all Brunswicks, I stone more 8 and 9 pins then I leave 7's. The Frenzy doesn't like carrydown at all though or longer heavier oil. Other then tha

I love this ball because i seem to do well with it for the type of player that i am. i used to suck at bowling until i baught my frenzy after that i got my first turkey then first 160 game then 200 game now i jus bolwed 8 strikes in-a row with it its a Great ball i defently recomend it to any one that is starting out bowling to the better bowlers out there. I am thinking about buying the monster Smash R becuse id like to see a better hook on the lanes I play on (Med oil)

I´m a stroker with a 15 mile per hour ball speed and low-medium revs who purchased this ball in order to increase entry angle into the pocket. First off, I had this ball redrilled properly because another pro shop gave me a poor layout. I had to slow this ball down to 12 to 13 mph ball speed just to hit the pocket. It never gave me the move that was advertised on the Brunswick website. Their ball reaction diagram is pretty much exagerated to the point of fantasy anyhow. I guess in order to make this ball move like that, you have to be a power cranker like Robert Smith. But now It makes a good spare ball. Nice color, decent price, but it just didn´t match up with a stroker like myself. Crankers will probably benefit from it more than I will. For now, I will mess with the coverstock a bit and see what transpires. I will look to the Storm Eraser Blaze for a good house shot ball now.<

I bought my Frenzy about 5 months ago because I liked the way my SmashR rolled and performed. Since they both share the same core, I felt the Frenzy would go longer than my SmashR, but still have a strong move off dry. My Frenzy is drilled with the pin under my ring finger [4 1/4 inches from my PAP] with the CG below the midline [3 1/4 inch pin out ball] and swung right to create a 60 degree drilling. On most house shots with medium to medium dry lane conditions, this ball is the best hitting ball in my arsenal. The Frenzy clears the heads with relative ease and begins to rev up nicely towards the back part of the mid-lane before making a very hard move to the pocket. I would not classify the back-end move as a skid/flip reaction, but more of a strong rolling angular move, which is what I wanted from this layout. I would expect that drillings with the pin above the fingers would produce more of a skid/flip reaction. I have found that the N'Control pearl coverstock is not for D

This ball worked great on heavy to light oil. I could have a shot from 8 in the morning and bowl throughout the day and still know where to throw it to strike. The ball took a lot of oil in though and tracked easily. Needed to be resurfaced atleast 3 times in one year then it died. Then again I bowled 20 games or more a week. This ball gave me so many high scores that I can't even remember. This ball could be polished or dulled it still worked great. It would always cover the boards for me and demolish the pocket once it got there consistently.

I absolutely love this ball for drier conditions. I also have much success on a house condition, I almost have the whole lane to work with when I'm throwing the frenzy. I just got back from National Collegiate Team Match Games, and I bowl for the University of Central Florida and I ended up using the frenzy for the entire time and I average 228 for 9 games on a "sport shot". Granted that the ball has a 5-6' pin with 3.1 oz. of top weight and I drilled it with a quite a weak drilling. I do not recommend drilling this ball with a strong drilling, or else it will roll up early, unless that is what you want. Great ball overall.

I’m here to re-review the Frenzy after a few months of practice with it… Now, the reason why I bought this ball is because Brunswick said “this ball is for dry to medium lane conditions”. I beg to differ. for high rev players like me, this ball is way too aggressive. The many times that I’ve practiced on dry lanes with this ball, I will finish with my sliding foot in front of the right gutter (lefty) and throw it out between the middle and third arrow. Then it’ll break in from the fourth board and, sometimes, hits the pocket high or, most of the time, go brooklin (boy am I glad I didn’t buy an inferno or an X-Factor). The reason why I practice on dry lanes is because the co-ed league I will be bowling in this fall tends to be on the dry side (once in a while they’ll get generous and put a decent amount of oil on the lanes). Last season, I had an Ebonite urethane ball that was six years old so I decided to retire it and get a reactive resin that will go very long but snap with a massiv

This is a very decent ball, drilled with the "get through the heads" drilling on the sheet... it gets through the heads... very predictable roll, good carry... hits the pins hard but sometimes too hard... nothing special... sold my warrior because they both do about the same thing; roll up on the backends hard and carry about the same amount of stuff... i am going to try this ball on the sport shot this fall and see how it works on the burned up stuff... will post some more reviews of other balls soon because i just ordered some more..

This ball maybe a mid-priced ball but by god it hits like a higher priced ball. After I got this ball drilled and I bowled a three game series, first game I bowled a 232, not to shabby considering that I only have a 175 average. The second game I bowled a 279! thats the highest game i've ever bowled. The third game I bowled a 255! I was getting so many strikes people were watching me bowl like I was a pro! I bowled an amazing 766 series!! If you buy one ball this year, buy the new Brunswick Monster Frenzy. You will not be dissapointed.

I started bowling with an Ebonite Urethane ball about 5 years ago. It worked well for the first 4 ½ years. Moreover, I developed my game into a power Tweener. My ball would always seem to loss power when it got into the pocket and/or left many 7 pins for me (I’m a lefty). After my first year on a league (started with a 109 and ended with a 146. High game of 239), I decided I was going to look for a new ball to improve my game and carries. After some major research I decided on the Monster Frenzy would match my game. I went to my local pro shop and the guy said this might be a little too much ball for me and I should go with an entry-level urethane ball like power groove. Who cares, this ball looked cool and I wanted a skid/snap reaction. So I went with it anyways and had it drilled for more length. It was finally time to test my Monster. At first, I couldn’t get it into pocket no matter how hard I tried. I even tried standing to the right gutter and throw it out to the 2 to 3 board b

WONDERFUL BALL for Brunswick, Great with my way for hooking. You need to know what your doing to get the ball to curve like you want it to or your just out of luck there. Everyone needs to give this ball atleast one chance, its one of the best in my opinion for me to have been bowling for almost 10 years of my life. For people who say that is sucks..... i got to say there's something wrong with you..... if a bowler with an avrage of 133 can get a 200 game with this ball i think it is one of the best

I had this same problem when I first got this ball. Problem was not with the ball though, it was the drilling. I was using a 2L pattern, and it was liquid hook of the hand (had to play over the 5th arrow out to the 1 board). I eventually contacted Brunswick and they sent my driller a correction for the drilling. This ball has been AMAZING for me. Its the kind of ball (read my first post) that you can "GOTO" when the lanes dry up, or you feel you have to play too deep with anything else. This ball SHOULD go pretty long and then snap (that's the characteristic of the ball naturally). The other problem you may be having is not enough oil in the heads. If there is nothing in the front 15 this ball WILL burn up and act funny. Yet again this is not the fault of the ball, but the lanes you are throwing it on. You can read my first post to see my tests that I ran (including the before and after drilling fix), but to give you an idea, when i got the frenzy and the Eliminator, i've r

Though this ball caused me much grief when i first got it, it has gotten me out of some tight situations. I found that in order for this ball to work, it has to have the right drilling. When I first drilled the ball, i had the pin pushed out about an inch and a half up and to the right of my ring finger, the ball looked like it just wanted to hook but refused to. I then plugged and moved the pin closer to my ring finger and it has started to react better. I really think this ball is bowler specific, people who i have talked to have either loved or hated this ball, so it would be a coin toss whether to buy it or not. I am a storm guy anyway.

Tested this ball first on a medium oil shot with nice snappy backends. First 15lb. ball I ever used, and the first time using no wrist guard in 8 years !!! Started 12 at the arrows out to 5. The carry for the Frenzy was Awesome. By the third game I was in the 250's and the fifth game was 276, with a solid 10 in the 6th frame. It did not seem to dry up the line quickly and I only had to move left once in about 7 games. My recommendation is to give this ball a definate go when you are not carrying with other harder hooking balls. If you are playing too deep on a lane, then take the Frenzy and play a little straighter. Amazing ball for the cheap price. So far I will be carrying this Frenzy and the Inferno, with a desire to also have a mutant or a Freak in 15 lbs.

This ball is meant just for medium lanes...you can, however, get away with using this ball on dry lanes but if there are burnt heads you can forget about using this ball...go with a spare ball cause this ball is more than a monster on dry lanes......If you want to play this ball on dry lanes though you will have to play deep in the left gutter(right gutter for a lefty) and swing it outside and it WILL come back hard. Overall this is one my newest favorite bowling balls and will stay in my bag for some time.

15# 4 3/8 x 1/8 down. Drilled mine pin above ring finger, cg stacked, no weight hole. This ball is very impressive! Clears the heads easily, skates through the midlane, and has nice finish on the backend. Excellent hit as long as you don't try to swing it too much. Good compliment to the SmashR and Swamp Monster. Watch out for burnt heads and spotty breakpoints. o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o

Awesome ball, well for it's price atleast. Remarkable backend reaction. Good for fresh oil, but when carry down, better not use this ball. The ball needs fresh backends so it can snap back, without out it, its a really bad ball. Havn't seen a ball like this from Brunswick for awhile, didn't believe Brunswick made this monster. Amazing hitting power, but leaves a lot of 7, 8, 9, 10. Probaly just me, but it sometimes hit too strong, or sometimes too weak. Ball revs well, it might be a little too wild if you have a lot of hand, but this is the best you can get out of a mid-price ball.

Best ball Brunzswick has made in a very long time. I had kinda given up on them after they discontinued the quantum line. Wich was thier best line they ever had. Sorry zone lovers. It appears they had a stroke of genius though by adding a modified mushroom core with thier power koil coverstock. That only seems logical to take whats tried and proven and lop em together. Some ball companies just don't think this way and I don't think brunzswick had in some time either. I knew when I saw what they had combined together in this ball it was a definite winner though. Great job Brunswick, if your back to making A1products I just may be back also. Thanks.

I played this ball on two different conditions. The first was a league condition (35ft oil, buffed to 37ft, 8 ft push on the outsides). Being a high rev player, I played it standing last dot, threw it over center arrow to the 5 board. It rolled to 45 feet and turned left (litterally). It SNAPPED back and consistantly hit the 2 pin going away. I adjusted my line and went center to the 2 board. This put me flush, but scared the HELL out of me. The next condition I tryed was an open play condition (flat oil to 35ft, buff to 37ft, 3/4 total oil of League shot). This ball put everything BUT itself into a Frenzy. Playing 3 boards left of last dot, and rolling it over the center arrow to the 1 board @ 50 feet, you would expect to get a 10 pin. NOT THIS BALL! It was hitting so hard from there that I had the head pin routinely coming off the sideboard and having to take out a 9 pin (and in a couple of cases a 6 pin because the angle was so great that it was driving the 3 pin into the

We got one in just the other day and were pleased with this ball at first sight. Its briliant color and name will sell. The monster series has been there best since the zones. Everyone still wants a zone you pro shop operators know what I'm talking about just make a new zone already. This ball has everything a medium to high rev player is looking for. Lenght, flip, recovery, hit, need I say more. Nothing to new and nothing to write home about but it does do what eveyone likes skid roll flip. A winner in my book.
