AMF attempted to take its' Nighthawk core and put it into a skid flip shell - and it worked. However, there are better skid/flip balls on the market and simply shinning up the original Nighthawk produces a much better skid/flip reaction than the M2 Pearl. This is not to say that the M2 is not a good ball - there simply are better choices. The M2 can and will squirt in the oil and lose its' "carry" power if the lanes are too wet - whereas the original Nighthawk performs under a wide variety of conditions and produces a much better skid/flip reaction when shined than the M2. If I wanted an AMF ball for the oil, I'd use the Nighthawk and if I wanted one for medium to dry conditions with a skid/flip reaction, I would just get another Nighthawk and shine it up. The M2 is good, but nowhere near the best.
