Cove!
The 900 Global Cove is 900 Globals newest 800 series ball. The Cove features the Magna A.I. core wrapped in the RB 85 hybrid cover and finished at 4000. The Cove helps bridge the gap between the bigger symmetrical balls like the IDOL and balls like the !Q Tour and Ultimate Wrecker. The Cove is now available from any Storm VIP Pro Shop! The Cove: A Safe Harbor for Benchmark Ball Reaction
Rev Rate: 340 rpm Avg. Ball Speed: 14.5 mph PAP: 5 1/2" x 1/2" ↑ Layout: 4 x 4.5 x 4 The 900 Global Cove has been a great fit in my bag because of how dependable and smooth the motion is, no matter where I line up on the lane. The Magna A.I. core gives me a really steady roll, and paired with the RB85 Hybrid cover, it digs in just enough in the midlane without losing energy too early. What I like most is how continuous the motion is—it never feels lazy downlane and always drives through the pins with confidence. On medium to heavier oil, it’s the type of ball I can pull out first and trust to give me a true read, making it a reliable benchmark option that I keep coming back to. I opted to polish my Cove so that it fit as a ball down from the Ion Pro.

Cove
The new 900 Global Cove features an all-new core design, the Manga A.I. core. The coverstock is the Reserve 85 Hybrid coverstock in blue/sand/teal to add shelf appeal. At 15 pounds the Cove has an RG of 2.49 and differential of .044. I drilled my Cove 5x5x2 which puts the pin above my bridge. The Cove’s cover helps it through the fronts. This ball really picks up in the middle of the lane and has a slow response time to friction. The backend motion is very even in an arcing motion. This ball is perfect for fresh conditions with medium volume and length. The ball motion allows me to play straighter angles and play closer to the friction without having the ball overreact. As the night went on and I had to continually chase the pattern left and open my angles a bit, that’s where this ball got out of its comfort zone and I started to leave weak corner pins. Luckily, Global 900 introduced the Ember to be the next ball out of my bag. The Cove will be a great ball for lower rev players who are looking for a very controllable but strong ball.

900 Global Cove Ball Review by PJ Haggerty
The Cove is one of the newest additions to the 800 series at 900 Global and it’s been impressive so far. If you’ve seen any of the marketing over the summer from 900 Global, they released a two-ball punch with the Cove and Ember and the results have been great. Both balls are symmetrical and the Cove is designed to be an earlier-reading ball while the Ember is designed to provide more length and a quicker response time. The Cove offers a hybrid coverstock, an RG of 2.49, and a differential of .044. I’ve drilled one so far and really like it. I mapped it out as 5 x 5 x 2. This puts the pin above my ring finger and the CG is stacked. I also took a bit of the surface off by using a 3000 pad and water. The centers around me have quite a bit of early friction so I wanted the Cove to still get through the front of the lane and not burn up too early. I’ve been able to use the Cove on multiple patterns and surfaces with success. I think the Cove compliments the Origin EX, Ember, and Ion Pro Solid extremely well, so if you’ve drilled those, I think the Cove would be a great addition to your bag. Go drill one!

Length: 41' Volume:Medium after league Type:THS Ball Speed 15.5 mph Medium Rev-rate 285-300 Playing the track: UP 10 :) COMMENTS Prepared for Anything! 900 Global latest 1-2 punch in the form of a Hybrid (RB89) and Pearl (RB85) covers wrapped on the new Magna A.I. Symmetric core will define your benchmark arsenal for the upcoming bowling season. My layouts are: Cove - pin down under bridge for control on the fresh Ember - Pin above ring for the strong backends and transition My Cove at 4000 was sluggish and more forward at box condition. A light buff with Power Edge provided the much needed power retention and allowed the cover to be more responsive at the breakpoint. This compared to my pin down Sublime is a similar shape with more length and usability in league. My Ember was next up after 1.5 games. 3 board move left to open up the fronts and watched the Power Edge polish push the to its happy spot. While ignoring some friction my layout still offer myself control at the breakpoint with continuation thru the pin deck. You basically get 4 balls out of this combo before of the versatility in cover adaption. This is possibly the easiest 2 ball arsenal choices I have ever had to start league. This a truly #Strikingworldwide moment for 900 Global. Visit your local VIP Proshop today

900 Global Cove
Cove, along with Ember, adds a whole new dimension to the SPI lineup! I personally have really missed a mid-diff symmetrical option for those medium house shots and older lane surfaces where the big stuff just doesn't store enough energy. The Cove, with it's hybrid coverstock, creates a nice mix of traction and downlane continuation. Honestly, this ball hooks more downlane than i anticipated, which makes it more usable than other symmetrical balls with smoother covers. This ball fills a much-needed gap for me, along with the Ember, and they are both gonna round out my league bag nicely! You don't wanna miss this dual release! The perfect 1-2 punch.

Cove Review
Layout: 4 1/2 x 4 x 2 1/2 Surface: 4000 Abralon Rev Rate: 470 Tilt: 13* The brand new 900 Global Cove brings a brand new core and coverstock combination in the 800 series lineup. The Cove uses the new Magna AI Core which is symmetrical to bring a low rg and medium differential that has not been in the line since the Xponent. The coverstock is the new Hybrid S85 which offers a quite of bit of control with ample continuation to use as more of that benchmark type ball. On my 44ft typical house pattern, the Cove matched up really well on the fresh as expected. Its controllable nature allowed the ball to read the front and middle parts of the lane fairly well while not trying to be angular downlane. This is the ideal ball motion for most fresh conditions. I was able to use this ball a little straighter than most other balls in the line on the fresh but was certainly not as forward as a urethane type ball. As the lanes transitioned and I had to move to the inside part of the lane, my carry became a little hit and miss. Its control aspect became a little too controllable at times and I often left the corner pins. A change in hand position to add axis rotation allowed the ball to get down the lane a little further and give more angularity down lane which allowed me to continue striking more. I was actually surprised how strong the coverstock felt on this Cove. I think it will be a nice benchmark piece on a variety of conditions where the lane surface isn't great. It will still be a step below the Sublime Focus in quick comparison as the core and coverstock are noticeably weaker. The cove would be most ideal for those bowlers who like controllable ball motion and those who like to play straighter up the lane. It will be best on fresher lane conditions or a ball down from the Sublime Focus. Shining up this ball will give a little more length and backend but will still be pretty controllable overall. The new hybrid ball is called the Cove. It features a smaller core than you saw in the zen line. The drop in differential is complimented by a new RB85 cover that features a rapid oil absorption rate. This gives you an incredibly consistant mid-lane read with great continuation. I tested the cover for the first time in league. I figured with it's mid differential I would have to square it up a bit more. I gotta tell you this cover gives you more than you'd expect given the core numbers. I was at least as far left as I was accustomed to playing with my Zen 25. The shape is definitely mid-laney and smooth. It really reminds me of the XPonent in the mid-lane. If there was anything the X-ponent suffered from it was that is saw the mids so hard it stuggled to finish when covering boards. The Cove corrects that and as a result is one of my new favorite pieces. I honestly didn't go into the ball with high expectations but I think this ball is gonna be a surprise for a lot of bowlers. It looked great first game out. I did change out of it just because I had other balls I wanted to test that night, but another look at it the next day revealed that it was still in play at the end of the league session. It also seems to respond well to hand position changes so it's pretty versatile. This ball should be a fantastic tournament piece but it is great on the house shot too. I feel like this is one of those balls that might fit different parts of the bag for different people but that will be useful for everyone. Cove Bowling Ball Review
I drilled up my COVE with a 5 x 4 x 2 which is a standard layout for me on smoother pieces. I left it box finish (4000) to start for a reference point. I compared it to my SUBLIME FOCUS and ZEN25 on a couple of conditions. The COVE to me was a little less than my FOCUS and a little earlier than my ZEN25. The marketing of the piece by 900 Global is spot on as you cannot go wrong if you are looking to plug in a middle of the bag piece. One thing I did notice was my COVE was very smooth at the breakpoint. My FOCUS could get sideways quickly and the ZEN25 definitely was sharper on the backend of the lane. I always thought of my FOCUS as a "poormans" PHAZE II but the COVE is close to that smoothness. With only a 4000 finish on it at the factory, the COVE did lane shine quickly. I touched it up with 3000 wet to give it some of that giddy up and it was like it came out of the box again on how it gripped the lane.

Cove
I drilled the new 900 Global Cove to be a middle of the bag option, and that is exactly what I got! I drilled this new ball with the pin above my bridge and the CG in my palm to give the most control possible. Naturally i think this ball is super controllable, but adding a controlled layout helped it even more. This ball is the perfect ball to start with if you plan on bowling leagues this fall. The brand-new core/cover combo gives you a unique shape compared to the rest. I see this ball fitting in the "RockStar" area of the bag. 10/10 from me!

900 Global Cove
900 Global Ember & Cove – SPI’s Latest Additions Deliver Versatility and Precision The 900 Global Ember and Cove are the newest additions to the SPI family, and both bring unique motion characteristics that fill key gaps in any competitive arsenal. I drilled both at 4.5 x 3, and despite sharing a layout, they each offer distinctly different shapes that I was looking to add to my bag. ? Cove – RB 85 Hybrid Coverstock The Cove fits perfectly between benchmark pieces like the Optimum Idol, Phaze II, and IQ Tour. It’s an ideal choice for fresh conditions or that early transition period when the lanes start to change. The RB 85 Hybrid cover gives it a smooth yet responsive motion, making it a versatile first-ball option. ? Ember – Bridging Control and Backend The Ember fills the gap between my IQ Tour AI and Road Warrior. It’s a bit cleaner than the IQ Tour AI through the fronts, but with more defined shape down lane, offering great control without sacrificing backend pop. Bottom Line: Both the Ember and Cove are going to be staples in the bags of serious tournament players or league bowlers looking for performance on both fresh oil and during transition. Whether you're building a new 6-ball arsenal or just need that next piece to round things out, these two are worth a look.

900 Global Cove Coverstock: RB 85 Hybrid Reactive Finish: 4000 Abralon Core: Magna A.I. Core. What you will see right away is that the Cove is smooth and well balanced with the RB Hybrid coverstock giving the Cove slightly more pop down lane as compared to a prior 900 release the 900 Global Xponent. At the time, the Xponent was highly regarded in the arsenal but a bit overshadowed by some other SPI pieces. However, the Cove has had a hot start during trade show season and testers are really liking results. The Cove comes with a hybrid coverstock, finished at 4000 Abralon. You can expect a good benchmark type of look from the Cove. The Hybrid coverstock will not hook to early and after a few games will settle down nicely. I tested the Cove out on THS and after about three games rolled it on the Don Johnson (40') pattern. The ball is very predictable which is the true strength of the Cove. In my opinion the Cove goes through the pins a tad better then its predecessor two generations ago the Ordnance C4. The Cove will be a great option as a starter ball out of the bag. Cove!!
Pattern: 40ft House Shot Layout: 70 x 4 1/2 x 40 Finish: Box (4000grit) The Cove by 900Global features a new symmetrical weight block called the Magna A.I. which has a dual-hemisphere design that provides a consistent ball reaction. This ball is completed with the RB 85 Hybrid cover at 4000 grit finish. At first, I was thinking this ball wouldn’t do much for me on fresh conditions. Honestly, this ball rolls like a controlled Asymmetrical Hybrid. Hard off the spot and consistent reaction. This ball finishes with a lot of power as well, it doesn’t lose much energy at the front or midlane. Very impressed with this ball and hope that you all don’t sleep on this one. PAP 5” Over 1/2 up Rev Rate 300. Tilt 20. Rotation 50. Speed at release 17 Review: The Cove is one half of a two-part release in the Roto Grip line. The intent is to pair the Cove and Ember together to cover a wide range of lane conditions. The Cove has a unique color that is very nice to see on the shelf and rolling down the lane. The Cove has a 4000 finish that gives the ball an early roll but not too early. The shape is smooth and controllable, and the ball goes through the pins very well. The cover can be scuffed up easily to give even more grab on heavier oil. I have tried 2000 on mine and may leave it there due to my lower rev rate and to achieve a wider gap between it and the Ember. I feel the Cove will allow you to be aggressive on a fresh pattern while maintaining a predictable back-end motion. There are already a good number of my customers talking about buying the Cove and Ember as a set fall the fall leagues. If you are looking up the Cove on Storms site, try out the Ten Pin Toolkit to get a layout pattern recommendation. This is a very nice feature and the few bowlers I have plugged in as test subjects seem to match up with the information and data provided. Summary: The Cove has a new eye-catching color. This ball is smooth and predictable. we should see a good number of theses on the lanes in the fall. Glenn Wendel Sidewinders Pro Shop Storm Pro Shop Staff gwendel@comcast.net www.stormbowling.com

Smooth
The Cove might be one of the smoothest balls I have thrown out of box. The Magna AI Core definitely seems to give the ball more stability. I was able to play around 5 on the fresh and it wasn’t too jumpy, just read and got to the pocket pretty consistently. This ball should come in handy around here with some of the house shots that are put out.
