Storm Triple Xtreme X-Factor Bowling Ball

(36 reviews) Write a Review

We've taken the Triple X Factor to the Xtreme... the Triple XTREME™ that is! This ball generates a massive amount of torque and will make the corner on even the toughest of conditions. This is accomplished by combining our world-class ACCU-tread™ solid reactive coverstock, preparing it to an 800-grit satin finish, then wrapping it around the dynamic RAD3™ weight block. The satin ACCU-tread™ builds higher friction in the mid-lane. The RAD3™ creates a strong preferred spin axis that in tandem, make the Triple XTREME really "lean" toward the pocket. If you take your game seriously and want that edge, then take your game to the XTREME!

I have used this on multiple patterns, and, until my Hyroad arrives, it is the most versatile piece in my bag. If I am playing on a heavy pattern, I can move to the right, and have it roll nicely into the pocket. If I am on a medium pattern, length and volume, I am able to play it very similar to a house shot, sliding at about 25, throwing out to fifteen, and having snap back into the pocket, shredding the rack. I got this ball from a youth league, where the kids got free equipment off of a rack in the storage room, I also got a VGN, I think owned by the same guy. That being said, the ball had been drilled a few times before, and has the pin actually right of my PAP, but this is my favorite ball.

well i first got this ball as a gift from my youth bowling coach because at the time all i had was a power groove. .he has about the same span that i do so he told me to try it out. i liked it so he gave it to me. the ball is a very powerful ball if it is used right. it works best when you first start but when the lanes breakdown, it is time to put the ball in its bag. it dosent do to well on drier lanes because it is so powerful. i play it over the 17 board and make it break at about 5 board. it has a pretty good snap but you have to be carefull playing that line if you are a super high speed bowler.

Smells great! strawberry, I believe, hard to tell when the scent is mixed with lane oil. I am done with my review but now I need 100 words. So Im just going to say that the 100 word minimum should be moved down to 50. Man I still cant get this thing to let me submit. I guess Im just going to have to keep typing more words until I know Ive typed 100. More. You Want More? Okay fine Ill Just type a few more words and then Im giving up. If you are reading this then I guess i beat this bloody computer.

This ball is the best ball I have thrown on a wood, heavy oil sport patter. Thrown the ball up 5 and snaps into the pocket. Can't be beaten on wood with this ball. This ball also works well on a medium length sport shot on synthetic lanes. This is one of the biggest hooking balls Storm has released. This ball can work playing inside on a heavier house pattern. The ball is more of a snap ball rather than an arch ball. When this ball finds the dry, it shoots back to the pocket. I am disappointed that Storm discontinued this ball.

This is another winner by Storm. This ball is as strong as they come, this ball really makes the corner and it doesn't stop there. This one really powers through the pins and really clears the deck. It keeps the pins low and sends messengers from hell. The power of this one really suprised me, but then again this is a Storm, it was even better than I expected. This is definitely one to get picked up. The cover might need a little adjusting to get the desired reaction you're looking for, but other than that, this one is strong!

it seems like i can use this ball on almost any condition. too bad they dont make it anymore but ill find another one if it kills me. i have over 600 games on this ball and it still reacts great. storm says that its a heavy oil ball, but i dont believe that storm has made a heavy oil ball yet.... except the paradigm passion. ive have the XXXtreme for about a year and a half and i would never even consider getting rid of it. my boss (regional PBA pro) likes this ball a lot too.... he's got 3 of them. its a great ball if you have a little hand in it and can create some area out on the lane.

Good ball over all with tremendous hitting power, but where I bowl the lanes are flooded with oil so I can get i little touch.I find it works will on medium-heavy oiled lane witha snappy back end, Works better when polished than dull. I don't really know what it would be like on really dry lanes because im bowling on flooded lanes all the time! Really, overall a good ball that will hook if you want it to but if you bowl it to slow it will take off like a rocket, STORM RULES,STORM RULES,STORM RULES,STORM RULES,STORM RULES,STORM RULES,STORM RULES

Typical storm ball, Hits hard but is hard to control, High scoring potential if you can get it lined up , If not expect to pay a big penality in splits as it comes in heavy on the head pin, it starts to break and drives throught the action. Would not recommend this ball on wood lanes, maybe it will do beter on synthetics. Best if used early before the oil breaks down and expect to go to a second ball in the middle of the second game as this one will have to go back in the bag. You might consider a less drastic lay out like a 5 X 5 if you want to use this on wood because the 3 3/8 leverage is too much for wood surface.

I bought this ball thinking it would replace my Super Charge. While it is a nice ball, the Super Charge is a more even rolling ball and hence, better suited for heavier oil. I shined this ball up and it made all the difference in the world for me. It went long and snapped. Hit like a truck. Carried ten pins well. So, overall, I guess you could say that after getting the surface to match, the ball was a good one. Just wish I would have known. Then, I could have bought the Triple X instead. The ball is drilled label with the pin at 1 o'clock.

I needed a hard hitting ball and the xtreme definitely fits the bill. My release is a bit inconsistent at the moment, but when I release the ball correctly the xtreme has a very smooth, predictable hook and rarely leaves any pins standing when it hits the pocket. The ball has been drilled to go quite long, so the ball probably doesn't react as much as it could. I bowl on medium oil conditions, so with a stronger drilling this ball would handle heavier oil. I would definitely recommend this ball based on my experience with it so far.

look in a different reviews for my specs. drilled this stacked leverage with a giant weight hole above my rad. i threw this ball in a local alley that i have been having trouble in. This ball cleared that all up. i can finally throw with confidence that this ball will turn. has the excellent mid-lane read then at about 45 ft. look out b/c this ball makes a turn like you wouldnt believe. the only real problem is that you have to keep the coverstock well maintaned. other then that this is a great ball for medium-heavy to maybe heavy pending on how you throw.

Had this ball for about 4 weeks now and if you want a ball that snaps and cleans the deck this is the one, never felt more comfortable with a ball, I put reverse on it would stay on the Lane and i was still playing every board on the lane!Dry conditions can't contain this ball, Need another ball to compensate breakdown on lanesFirst ball I have purchsed since I started bowling competitively and I am realy impressed with the way the ball reacts when it hits the pocket. Never a pin left on the deck staring you down...When it starts going through the nose I would not hesitate to jump 4 boards or even put this ball away for the night! With heavy revs this ball does not skid it flips hard...<scri

A hard-hitting ball when it hooks, a good ball to switch to when the oil pattern begins to breakdown. Recommend it for tight-line bowlers with lower ball speeds than myself. Currently carrying a 185 AVG. and will continue to be my alternate ball for now when the medium oil pattern suits it. Haven't tried it on synthetics yet but that type of lanes could be better suited for it. Might be getting the absolute or intense inferno to take its place sometime soon. In the meantime, I'll go with this for ball now. Will give another review in a month or so.

I like the Accu-tread coverstock much better than the new monsoon covers on Storm's other equipment. Xtreme picks up a heavy roll in the mids and turns the corner about 3-5 feet earlier than anything else in my bag. I also have an Ace drilled exactly the same. As expected the Ace goes 5-7 feet further and flips out of the house. p O O cg O mb No weight hole needed on the Extreme. This layout provides versatility and strong arc to the pocket. Swings nicely on med oil and on heavy oil I can square up and run right down the 10 board with great resuts. Pins stay low and messengers fly everwhere. Carries light and flush hits very well. Watch out on high hits or you will see your share of 4-9's for righties and 6-8's for lefties. I rarely see weak 10's with this ball.

Love it! Will be at least in the bag for a long time to come. A great compliment for someone looking for a strong back-end on a fresh league shot. 2nd shift might not like the fight to keep it right (sorry lefties!). I am not a pro / semi-pro or even the "House Stud" but can hold my own. This ball plays strong for someone with a solid game. Wouldn't recommend for a spinner or someone looking to get that first hook into their game. Plays well with an inside out swing shot as well as down and in when the oil will hold it. Have run into Sport Shot situation and this ball (maybe the bowler?) had trouble getting it to the pocket from outside. That being sad ... you can do a lot worse!

Was hesitant to punch this rock up after watching a few people throw this ball when it was released. What a mistake! Talked to a friend on Storm staff and he suggested this ball to me, pointing out the fact that there are no big pieces in my bag. Layed it out, pin in the middle finger with the RAD kicked 2" right of the thumb. This mammy HOOOOOOOKS! Had no look at league so pulled it out game 3 to go front 7, and then it stopped off the break for the 1st time. 9th frame with the 300 out the window went ahead and moved 5 more left, crossed the 5th arrow and it just rolled up like I was playing down 5 like Walter Ray. LOL Tried it in my travel league, playing 18 at the arrows when everyone was still looking 10. Ball definitely will help open up the lane. Throw it about 18mph and have the hand to go with it, so if you are looking for a piece that reads the lane well...great ball to think about! Going to polish it more now in an attempt to help the ball save it's energy longer.<scrip

Last night I shot my first 300 with this ball. This ball is drilled with the pin an inch to the right of the my ring finger with a medium weight hole on the side parallel to the cg. This ball is amazing ball hits like a truck carries when the shot is right which last night the first game is perfect. but yesterday I had polished so I can get back end with it just like that I shoot 300 right off the bat. Even polished this still hooks a ton it just stores for the backend and for the pins. just shot 299 with it tonite.

Overall, if you are a bowler who has struggled to get that avg. up and is looking for a ball to help you do it, this is the one. It should be part of everyone's arsenal. Make sure you get this ball from a reputable Bowlers shop who knows how to drill to your style of game. I have to put a 100 word minimum here so here's the rest.....blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blahblah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blahblah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blahblah blah

I used Storms #1 polish to get this surface at 800 grit, just to get the ball down more naturally. This is my first ball that I truly can make the right changes before I get in trouble. And due to the proper reads of the lanes breaking down, I was able to bowl my first 800 series. Thanks to Storm for making such wonderful equipment. Last year, I decided to switch everything I have to all Storm products. Well it has paid off, and I now have an 800 ring to show for it. Thank you Storm. There are way too many bowling balls out there to choose from, so now I just piece together my arsenal with the different classes of bowling balls they have to offer. I have a Fear Factor, XXXtreme, Power Charge, Hot Rod, and Banshee, and have yet to find a shot that I can't at least do well on. As Long as I execute. I am a Storm Bowler for life.<sc

this ball from storm is a great ball. this ball has the pin 4 1/2 inches away from the cg and drilled with the pin at about 2 o-clock above ring finger and the cg 2 inches under the ring finger. drilled for length. i took this ball to the center after all the saturday morning leagues were done knowing they were gonna be meduim-dry conditions just to see if i can control this ball on that condition. i ended up standing all the way up against the ball return shooting it out over about the 18 board at the arrows, swinging it out to about the 10 board at the break point and it still came roaring back. my speed was 17.5 and i dont have alot of hand so this is proof how much it can break. UPDATE- This ball doesnt seem to have the hitting power of a hammer. my bro has the real deal from hammer and it hits harder. he is leaving solid 9 pins and i am leaving 10 pin. but this is still a good ball just shot a 255 game again with it. UPDATE- just shot a 299 and a 718 series with this ball.

Another great ball from storm. Have this ball drilled to have an arcing backend. If you need a backend reaction drill this ball strong. With the arcing backend it hits great with fresh backends. but could see a problem with this drilling with a lot of carry down. Have seen it with max backend drilling and it hooks like crazy. Would recommed this ball. Have lot of room for carry. carries high hits and light ones. Great for BIG scores. This is only my second Storm ball (all ways had Columbia) Very happy with the power it hits with. Will post another review with 50 games on it.

This ball was drilled with the pin between the fingers and the CG in the palm which put the RAD just slightly beside the thumb. The ball does as advertised good lenght with explosive hit. This ball is designed for heavier oil, I would recommend it be for medium oil. The surface of the ball is easily change with little to no effort. So to get the surface you need will not take too much time. I almost forgot this is a great smelling ball not to stong just right. Strawberries it's a wonderful thing. If you need a car air freshner just put it on the floor boards in a mild climate and you should get a great smelling car when you arrive back from work.

I would have given it a perfect 10 if I would have drilled it with a little more flare. On heavy oil, I have to really pay attention to the break point. I have to set it short and hit it with a lot of fingers. When the oily lanes break down a bit, this thing is a monster. It has great midlane with no over reaction. Somewhere between the second and third arrow is the perfect house shot for me. I think the core design in these balls are the best in the business. They give you a lot of midlane hook without the overreaction.
