I got this ball off of E-Bay... Surprise surprise, I sold it to my dad but he never got it drilled, so he just gave it back to me... I had it drilled layout # 2 on storms drilling layout for this ball, with the Mass Bios in the B position(half way between my thumb and the val) Pin is in the simi strong positon just under and to the left of my ring finger (I'm a lefty) When I first got this I was very disapointed in the proformance. I couldn't seem to find the right cover combination. It would roll out, not hook much at all, or be unpredictable. Then I decided to try 2000 grit and then polish the heck out of it... Then baked it to pull the oils out of the polish and WOW. Goes through the heads with ease and saves all the energy for a wonderfull (and predictable) recovery. I used this ball in the Pro-AM In west vergina on the cheetah pattern and wow this ball was amazing on that pattern. I was standing on the 30 board rolling over the forth arrow swinging it to the 10 board and i

Have had this ball for over 2 years. Doesnt seem to be very concistand on a dry shot. But overall very good on a fresh pair. To me it doesnt react very well on carry down shots. But i cant complain I've shot 2 of my 300's with this ball, all of which was on a fresh shot of oil. Once you have had it for a while the scent tends to go away. I my self can no longer smell the scent that came with the ball. I bought my ball use. It does seem to much for what it is worth.

this ball has great carry and good hitting power it really can knock around the pins.one thing i hated about the ball most was how it was so damn speed sensisitive.if you changed speeds by .05 miles per hour it would still change the hook of the ball. If you payed 215 dallors for this ball you must have bought it 2 years ago or you just rich or stupid.overall this is a good ball at the right price.this ball goes long and snaps into pocket . great evan for bone dry lanes.what an exellent ball <

This was my real ball and it has won junior tournaments and gotten me scholoraship money. This ball does not work well with lots of oil. There is no line for a person to play with heavy oil. Then again the ball was not made for heavy oil that can be lengthy. This ball was made for medium to light oil. Light oil will cause this ball to react more than usuall. But with medium oil this ball will hit the pocket. If the ball comes in light or brokey then your alright. Not needed to be said but if you miss your target completely then your screwed anywayz.

I see reviews here all the time where people dog a ball and call it crap. Give it one pin and say all the balls by that company are crap. Let me tell you something, I wasn't sure about this ball for a while. When my league started the lanes were wood with a short oil pattern, heavy in the middle. They have started to transition to synthetic lanes. I practice on synthetics all the time. The last time I practiced I pulled out the Recovery and tried a new line. I stood at 30 and swung out to 15. I throw the ball 22-23 mph. I bowled 253, 232, 211. Then on Tuesday at league I threw a 226, 232, 171( I switched to a Revmaster after 2 open frames including a 7-10 pocket split! I had thumb problems with the Rev and I switched back but it was too late.) On Tues. I stood on 25 and threw out to 10 and the Recovery came back like a champ. I am a 180 avg bowler, but I think that will be going up thanks to the Recovery. I also have bowled over 30 games with it. no change in reaction. I just keep th

This ball is fantastic. It is the smoothest rolling ball I have ever owned. It lives up to it's name all you have to do is trust it and it rolls to the pocket like a tank. It justs rips the rack when it gets anywhere close to the pocket. It still manages to be forgiving when you tug it a little. I can't say enough positive things about this ball. My average has went up 4 pins in three weeks with this ball and you know how hard it is to raise your average the 2nd half of the season.

I had previously reviewed the Recovery, and at that time I was not impressed. The league I bowl in changed the oil pattern at the half way point and I was struggling. Out of frustration, I got the Recovery out and it turned out to be the right ball for the conditions. Ball is drilled with layout #2, mass bias in the B position. I am able to use the ball for all three games and I am getting a tremedous reaction when the ball get to the break point. Maybe the best carry under these lane conditions I have ever had. This is just another example of the ball not being the problem. It didn't work for me before, but with the new lane conditions, it is awesome.

Disappointment in my second Storm product, this was supposed to be a step up from my previous ball, El Nino Gold, instead had me excited about it for 10 weeks of bowling, and after that, had me searching for a new ball. This ball would be recommended for bowlers who are willing to play the third arrow. The ball does smell good though, and I am sure this ball has worked better for others, but with the lane conditions I bowl with, this ball definetly is not a breaker like it was advertised to me. Better luuck next time I guess

This ball did not fit my game well. I don't necessarily think it is a bad ball, just that it doesn't mesh with my style. No matter what part of the lane I tried to use, I could not get the ball to respond. I have been using a Storm SuperPower that even after 2 years still has a good reaction. I can use the Recovery only on Sahara dry lanes and even then it will barely move. Again, I don't think it is the ball and maybe with a little different drilling it might work for me. I don't believe that it is ever just the ball, it is always the bowler. I have never seen a ball review where everyone gave it a bad review. As you can tell from some of the other reviewer they love the ball.<scrip

This ball is great ball from Storm. From its consistency to it's smell it's just great. Any loyal storm fan would like it. I've had success with this ball polished but I think it reacts better sanded. I think its a lot smoother that way. I've used this ball over 100 games and it still reacts great. I shot 299-786 with it and still shooting high. I think this ball is a definent keeper for med oil. I can't use it on flooded or extreme dry but everything else it reacts great. Just a great ball!!!

This ball is a waste of money, when it first came out it looked like a power ball. This ball dropped my average 50 pins. When the ball hits 30 or so games it just dies, you cant restore it, or do anything to it, you should just throw it away. This ball has no hook at all. I think a plastic ball has more hook. So whatever you do, do not get this cheap ball. You will be very disapointed. This ball is not worth a cent in my book. I really feel sorry for the people who bought this ball. If you get this ball throw it away.

I really have nothing bad to say about this ball. Right out of the box i shot a 778 series which is never a bad thing. I also bowled my first 300 and my first 800 series with this ball. Any one who is looking for a ball that wants to take their game to the next level on medium to heavy oil lanes should seriously consider this ball. This ball will be a powerful arsenal for any bowler. It is also a great ball to have if you are unsure of the lanes conditions at the start. This ball is very predictable and very reliable. For all of you crankers out there that play the first five boards, with this ball you don't have to be afraid of this ball not coming back in the pocket. This ball really is true to its name... the recovery. If you miss your mark by a few boards you will be amazed at how this balls "recovers" your shot.

This ball is a great ball if you are an experianced bowler but it is not for starters. Any one that says it isnt they shouldnt be bowling. This ball hooks very nicely especially on synthetic lanes. like i said in my dislikes this ball can some time hit so good and so hard that it leaves a 10 pin but thats ok because that could be human error to like hit at a certain angle. One of my freinds has this ball and he has bowled 2, 300 since he had it. I encourage every one to on this ball because it really pays off. And if you just dont want to try this ball then try the Trauma ER, because it is a very good ball to.

Well this ball was very good when i first got it. I even won a tourney the first day i got it. So I was ver pleased but then i put bout 50 or 60 games on it and it just died. Like i mean just stop working, it left ten pins ,7-10 and junk like that off of good shots.I recvercied it and it got better but it still couldnt stor enough energy for the back end so it would come in flat . My avg droped from a 210 to a 200 because the ball cant cary. I would keep on recvercing it but im only 17 and cant afford to do that now .Well anyways this is a very good ball if u can maintain it but if u cant spend 200 bucks somewher else

another outstanding ball for any lane condition or house shot. Another good ball for 180 and below bowler. If they like STORM. STORM IS PAVING THE WAY FOR THE FUTURE BOWLER. Are future bowlers are our children. So give a helping when you can and when it is needed.I just don't have any dislikes with this ball at all. hope to get another one to be drilled for oily lanes (HEAVY) oil. Just remember the CHOO-CHOO sound when you roll this ball it leaves nothing in it's path. RECOVERY with a BLAZE and a BOOST to add to your bag.

I can throw it anywhere right of the 1-3 pocket and it always recovers well into the pocket. And if it doesn't hit directly into the pocket, but lightly hits it, the pins will shuffle and still give me a strike. Brooklyn shots will also give me a strike. The really only bad thing is that it absorbs alot of oil but I can atleast see my track. And it is hard to wipe off all of the oil, but it doesn't bother me because rather or not it has oil on it, it is still as reliable as ever.

good ball over all with good control and good hitting power, but when the lane s are flooded i have to put it away and use my Trauma ER.It works better on the medium to light oiled lanes.I did not think it would be any good on the drier lanes but with the 1500 sand and polish it hold excellently well.Overall a good ball that will hook if you want it to, but if are inconsistent with the ball speed the ball be all over lane.If you maintain the ball properly the should last a long time.

This ball is worth nothing at all. You would have better carry if you went out, got a house ball, drilled that up and bowled on the oppisite hand. Because Storm concentrates on there balls too much they don't put the time in to make a good ball like they used to. Coming out with a new ball every month isn't going to go well with the buyers because LIKE THIS BALL is not worth the stuff it's made from. If you want to buy a great ball that wont go out on you at all buy a Lane #1 Ball.

Overall I would have to say that i was highly disappointed with this ball. I was hoping to get a ball that was like the ER but a little more mellow of a ball. I wanted a ball that would bite but not too hard to the point that if you slow down it would be gone. It was a good ball out of the box but after about 40 to 50 games, it seemed to totally die. The recovery doesn't move at all anymore and also doesn't carry too good. I use mine generally for spares on the right side of the lane for the simple fact that it doesn't barely move at all.<s

After having more games played with this ball i can give a better overall review of the ball. The controllability and consistency of this ball is awesome because of the drillin layout that I have on this ball(see my previous review for my drilling layout). The only work I do is to make sure that i guide the ball to the arrows and let it do its thing. I like how it goes long and wait till the very last moment to hook and recover back to the poket. Dont let this ball's polished box finish fool you because this ball is a hook monster. Even with a pretty tame drillin that I have on this ball I can hook 15-20 boards easily even on oily lanes. I also like how this ball hits the pocket. Even at times when I dont throw the ball with a lot of speed or power I still get that nice gunshot sound effect when it hits the pins. Even with light hits this ball still finishes with authority. Almost shot a 300 but got so anxious on the second shot on the tenth and came up wide to the right. I p

On a dry lane it tears the lane up, any oil what so ever, you're screwed. Ball hits hard, very hard, has great carry, and good back-end, but only on a dry lane. This ball dies after about 50 games. If there is any oil on the lane, it's skid city, no reaction, and for me to say that a ball doesnt react is nuts, i put so much hand in the ball i hurt myself most of the time. I even had it resurfaced and it did jack shit, the funny thing is that the Too Hot by Storm, out hooks the Recovery by close to 10 boards, what the hell is that all about!?!? Anyway this ball is great for about 40-50 games, after that....dead.

I started to play with this ball on my league the moment after i had just gotten it drilled. Not usually a pretty good idea after just getting a ball and not seeing how it rolls down the lane. However this ball's roll is pretty readable thats its easy to find its line. My first game started out with a 150 which isnt that good. Second game threw a 234. Last game finished with a 176. Pretty mediocre series overall but not bad being its the very first three games with the ball. As far as drillin specs pin about 11:00 top of fingertips with MC2 right next to my thumb and a balance hole drilled along the pap. This drilling makes the ball go long and then snap when touches the dry part of the lanes. Not as aggresive as some other drillings but has a nice controllable and readable backend. So far i would give this ball a 9 out 10 but Ive only played 3 games with it so far.
