The Match Up BRB is a hybrid version of the Match pearl in the Hot line of bowling balls from Storm, that still uses the Stinger 2.0. This replaces last years Match Up BYR. The core numbers of the Stinger 2.0 are 2.57 rg and 0.035 diff. The Match Up BRB has a cool color combination of black, red, and blue, and is scented with cranberry chill. The Reactor hybrid cover of the Match Up BRB is cleaner through the front of the lane then most of today's current highly porous, strong cover stocks. I drilled the Match Up BRB with a 5" pin and 2" pin buffer. The Match Up BRB seems to have a more rounded continuous motion through the backend, compared to a slightly more defined "hockey stick" shape of the Match Up pearl BOS. Comparing the BRB to the Black pearl that has factory surface, the BRB is a little cleaner, and less overall board coverage. The Match Up BRB covers about the same amount of boards as the Match Up BYR that it replaced. It is a medium-light to light oil ball in box finish, that saves energy for slightly drier lanes that you need to move in a bit, and still get recovery from the ball. The Match Up BRB is a good tournament ball for bowlers that see long blocks of competition, or bowl in events that don't re-oil for semi's and finals. The Match Up BRB will also work well for second shift, used, league conditions that have had a lot of games already rolled on them. If you feel the need to replace your aging Match Up BYR or never drilled one in the first place, the Match Up BRB will fit right in. Thank you for taking the time to read my review of the Match Up BRB from Storm, the Bowler's company.

Before we begin, I want to thank Storm and Turbo for providing me with all the equipment I use every time I step on the lanes, and the Facebook page Storm and Rotogrip Bowling Balls for Sale for providing me with a platform to promote all of this great equipment. I recently decided to switch to 16lbs, so both balls featured in this video are indeed 16. The match up line is a great median between the hyroads and hustles. The match up hybrid was by far my favorite match up produced, so I was excited when I heard they were bringing back the same cover with updated colors. I decided to change things up for this video, and ended up bowling on a house shot. I believe these match up thrive on higher friction surfaces/shots, so this was a no brainer. The Match Up BRB breezes through the heads almost effortlessly, and doesn't stand up too hard off of friction. This is a shape that is completely essential in my bag. As many of you guys know, blending out overwalled shots is not my favorite thing to do. The match up is not overly aggressive, so I am able to throw it right into the friction without worrying about it seeing the spot too quick and going through the face. When compared to the hyroad, you can see that the match up offers a very familiar shape but is quite I bit cleaner through the fronts and faster to respond to friction downlane. When bowling on any shot, I believe that it's most important to read the lane from front to back. Even though both the Match Up and Hyroad cover almost the same amount of boards left to right, when they see the lane is completely different. The Match Up Black, Red, Blue is a continuation of the popular Match Up line. The new BRB has a smoother motion than the previous Match Up hybrid. This ball will be perfect for those patterns that are dry in the front and really dry downlane. Its clean through the front but doesn't snap too hard downlane! I was really impressed by how straight I could go with this piece. Usually low end balls with small cores absolutely jackknife off the dry, this ball though is different. The BRB was so smooth off the end of the lane. I think ball will fare well on the new shorter patterns were seeing from the PBA. Im excited for you guys to throw this ball! https://youtu.be/qmXTMjBpa04

Orientation: Right Handed Rev Rate: 375 RPM Speed: 16-17 MPH PAP: 4 5/8 straight across Location: Enterprise Park Lanes, Springfield MO Pattern: High Volume THS VLS Layout: 5, 4, 1 3/4 Dual Angle: 60, 5, 30 The Match Up BRB is another great light volume ball from Storm. Like the other Match Ups the BRB is super clean and smooth on the backend. I think the BRB is much cleaner than the other version of the Match Ups and creates a touch more backend. If you need a ball for a light volume of oil, or you don't have a ton of ball speed, the Match Up BRB is a great choice. AND it looks great too!

I drilled the MatchUp with my pin above my ring finger which works out to be a five and a quarter pap to pin distance. The matchup features the stinger 2.0 weight block as the engine and reactor hybrid as the tires. The MatchUp line has been a fun series of equipment to roll. I've had a pretty good look with all of them. This was the first time I've used a MatchUp on StoneStreet and honestly, I really struggled to get comfortable. I think the pattern load might need to be tweaked a bit because I had no room to miss. With that said, my ball speed is too fast and my rev rate could use some work but, normally on this type of shot, I have more room than I did for this video. I used it in league when the track started to burn and my confidence returned for this ball. I understand that this ball is not supposed to be the first ball out of your bag but, it should give you something coming off the corner of the lane. When you first see it on the shelf, it will remind you of a polished PhysiX which is pretty awesome. I actually fooled a few people by telling them it was a PhysiX pearl. The sad news is that mine had no scent...like, nothing. I was looking forward to the fragrance so, that was a bummer. Overall....It's a MatchUp, it looks cool, it kinda hooks and it doesn't smell. Storm Match Up B/R/B Layout: Pin 4.5 inch and 1" pin buffer Rev Rate: 300 rpm Testing information: 41 foot THS (medium to light volume) Bowling Center: Fulton Bowling Center Kegel Machine – Brunswick Anvilane The Match Up B/R/B is here. It combines the Reactor Hybrid Coverstock and the Stinger 2.0 core. The Reactor coverstock provided easy length and the Stinger core provided plenty of power. The original Match Up Hybrid was a favorite of mine and a very under rated ball. This new color version continues the tradition of providing hook at a lower price. We compared the Match Up B/R/B to the Storm iQ Tour Emerald. The BRB had a smoother ball motion than the iQ Tour Emerald. We played the BRB about 5 and 3 to the right of the iQ Tour Emerald. The B/R/B was a little more sensitive to the oil on the fresh but this went away as the shot broke down after a couple games. I also got to throw it on a tournament shot when the track area was burnt. The BRB performed well on this condition. It allowed me to throw it to the hook spot and not stand up too quick. This type of lane condition is becoming more prevalent in today's game so the BRB will thrive. #Stormnation

I've been a big fan of the Match Up line, especially the Black Pearl. There are times the lane tells us not to throw asymmetrical balls or urethane, so the Match Up line is a perfect compliment to those balls. The difference with the new Match Up Black/Red/Blue compared to the original Match is the updated Stinger 2.0 core. This Match Up is wrapped with a hybrid coverstock to create length and a controllable, but quick response time at the breakpoint. With an RG of 2.57 and diff of .0035, I decided to drill this one a bit stronger to make sure the ball flares enough. My layout is 4.5 x 4 with no weight hole. This puts the pin between my ring finger and bridge. I also knocked the surface with a 3000 pad just to take some of the initial shine off. This smoothed out my reaction down lane without taking away any of the length through the front. I can see using this ball on high friction surfaces or late in blocks when I need to create more angle left to right. The Match Up Black/Red/Blue is another great addition to the "Hot" line at Storm! Go drill one! #StormNation

The Storm Match Up BRB Hybrid ***Stinger 2.0 Core*** ***1500-grit Polished Reactor Hybrid coverstock*** Set up with one of my favorite layout, 65x5x40. The Match Up BRB will be staple for me at my wood lane house. Gets me the length I need with a strong, sharp motion to the pocket. When it hits the Friction this gives me more angle than I expected for the a ball in the HOT Line. In a little more oil, this will end up being a drop down from my Idol Pearl. A great gap filler for my tournament arsenal. When there is less friction, the backend motion is much smoother. With the price tag it carries, it should be an extremely popular piece for both the league and tournament bowler. #StormNation
