Storm La Nina Bowling Ball

(6 reviews) Write a Review

La Nina is a Storm that is so fierce, to date, there has never been anything like it! Combining the all new Accu-Tread shell material with Thermo-Dynamic Response particle technology has created the most effective coverstock, otherwise known as Pro-Thane. Utilizing TDR particle technology, Pro-Thane is not constructed with similar particles used by other manufacturers. Even in the heaviest oil, Pro-Thane provides a wider footprint for more fritction in the mid lane and on the backend for a stronger reaction.

I bought my first Storm ball used from a friend. I did have to put it in the luster king for 10 minutes. I could not throw the ball dull. I am a hard thrower w/ about above average turn. I generally start about 2nd arrow and then move over to 3rd arrow depending on the shot. This ball is good on the oil. All you need is a little back end and you would blow the rack out. I can use this ball for all spare shots, so I never have to change to a spare ball. After about a month of using La Nina, I shot a sanctioned 300 game on a medium oil condition while being around the 13th board.

traded my Ricochet for this ball - was looking for something new to play with, which is exactly what i got. has a different reaction then any of my other balls. which has made me learn to throw a different shot then i'm used to. with a clean backend this ball makes a crisp break for the pocket. can be a bit unpredictable with sloppy back ends, either goes high or low. doesn't like to move as much as my Mass Chaos or Assassin. but then again i've had them longer and i know how to play with them, the La Nina i've only had for a couple of weeks and am still learning what kind of tricks it has left in it.

This ball is great when the lanes are oily. The ball hooks from around 5 board (im a lefty) and sweetly into the pocket with consistancy. It has a nice roll down the lane with a nice arcing motion into the pocket leaving nothing but a wreakage of the pins. Not much else can be said about this amazing old ball from Storm but congrats to the company and keep up the good work with the new stuff on the market (Shock Trauma, X-Factor etc...) Hope to be writing another review about another superb Storm ball. Thanks to all.

Not bad. A great Oil ball. Mid - to early ball movement, with a tonn of back end. This ball will do the job over and over again, with no problems, as long as there is oil. I found that this ball really burns out when the heads start to dry out. This ball was in my arsonal till i got my Raging Red Fuze. My RR Fuze goes about 5-10 feet longer, so it lasts longer when the heads get burnt. Other than that, if you like the RR Fuze, this ball has very similar qualities (This ball is almost good enough to be a Brunswick ball........Almost, but not quite....)

This is a very nice ball on oil. The ball I have has about a 4.5 in. pin this ball that I have gets great length and back end. One of the bad things about this ball is that if there is no oil the ball goes of the lane. I bowl in a sport shot league and I used this ball for the 40 foot flat shot that they put out It worked well on that shot. And it also will work well on a fresh house shot but other than that the ball will over react. That is why I only gave this ball a nine. It also requires alot of cleaning in order to keep this ball hooking you must keep it clean.

my highest i have thrown with it is a 246. i like throwning it over the second arrow, maybe if i get nuts over the first arrow. pretty good for a ball that is drilled for a right hander ( i think ) and is thrown by a lefty. i just throw it alittle harder when the lanes are dry. its better for a oily lane. it can be a scary at times and nonforgiving sometimes. alot of people say that they can't control it. i can see what they mean. i like it 90 % of the time. it also produces a nice hitting energy.
