The week prior to getting this bowling ball, my friend and I tried to go bowling impromptu at a sports bar that had exceedingly dry combo lanes, only a very very light oil at best. Since I didn't have my own ball we were forced to use their smooth non reactive urethane and plastic house balls ther basically slid on the lane. I bowled the worst game I've had in years. I told my friend who is more a novice than I am that you need a rubber ball for these lanes. So In effort to enact some revenge I picked up a nearly new Celebrity 300 that may have rolled one game in its life if at all and an Ebonite Tornado at a thrift store both, by luck, were drilled nearly perfectly for me. So I head back to the dry lane sports bar with these two balls in tow and decide to unleash some old fashioned rubber glory. It took a few shots to figure out the lane with the new ball. I'm a lefty and after a few shots I had it dead on the Money in the pocket every single time slight hook shooting at the second arrow. I was up around 150 for two games, but I didn't have my usual spare ball. By the third game when we timed out and I had the spares down (you pay by the hour) I was on track to mid 200s. Not bad after bowling a 60 there the week before with their plastic and urethane house balls. Having bowled dry lanes before and always keeping an old rubber Ebonite Tornado on hand, this didn't quite have the carry and I couldn't hook it quite as much but it was darn consistent. In the pocket every single time. Now I'm consistent but I was surprised as to how easy it was to adapt to this ball. It was quite forgiving considering I never used it before today. So if you come across a nice one or cheap it wouldn't hurt to have on hand just in case you run into those dry lanes.
