I drilled this ball with the Pin over my bridge and the CG out. After some thought I decided it would be best to leave this ball with the Out of the box finish. This ball does not hook to much, It gets down the lane nicely and then makes a nice strong turn towards the pocket. The Supernova XP sends the pins back into the machine with ease. It hits them hard and keeps them low. This ball is perfect for Medium Oil, or when the lanes breakdown and the BuzzBomb/SuperNova is hooking to much. I feel the Supernova XP does itself most justice on Tournament Patterns, I feel this ball gives the bowler area on a Tournament Shot that the lane man doesnt want the bowler to have!! ;)

The supernova XP, is a great ball,... or at least it was up until i tried to tweek the cover a bit to make it react a little better, now i cant get it back to where i really liked it again. right now i have it at what i call a rough buff, little bit of surface then keep it buffed so it doesnt read the lane too early. its very smooth rolling, i think it is actually too smooth, it leaves you not much room for error, it is also very speed sensitive, its one of those balls that i like, but i dont know why,... i i keep trying to use it at my leagues, and dont have much luck except for the couple 750's with it when i first got it, hits hard, but now it almost seems to make the lanes tighter than they have to be... overall i dont know what to make of this ball, i keep confusing myself trying to find i cover that i can pull the ball out and use it with confidence.

Thanks to Rich and Chuck at Lane #1 for sending out the test ball. The layout I used was the same I had in my SuperNova...pin 4 1/2" from my PAP and MB 4 3/4" from my PAP. With the "Dual Angle" layout method, this equates to 60 degrees by 40 degrees, with the pin 4 1/2" from my axis. I tried this one out heavy volume house shot and the PBA's Cheetah pattern, and compared it side-by-side to the SuperNova. On the house shot I was able utilize the margin for error that the lane gave me. Shots missed to the inside did not dive through the face and shots that were wide made a smooth move off the burn. The XP was extremely clean through the heads and made a smooth arc to the pocket. I had to play a little further right than I was expecting, but that is not a bad thing. It played about 10 boards right with my feet when compared to my SuperNova, with a very similar ball move. The Cheetah pattern showed more of a difference. I was 13 boards right with my feet and utilizing a breakpo

Steve Harms, Bowlers Choice Pro Shop in Salt Lake, drilled this ball for me. Everything I throw tends to roll early so Steve drilled the SuperNova XP with the pin above the ring finger and the MB 1" right of the thumb. The ball was a little too shiny out of the box and squirted through the breakpoint. The house shot I bowl on tends to carry better when you can float the ball into the track area. Without dulling the surface it had a hard time finishing. Once the surface was changed the ball reaction was superb. I was able to move it and open up the lane. I'm averaging 223 in this house. The team we bowled against were amazed at the carry I had. I left one ten pin all night. The ball didn't overreact in the dry. This house shot dries out quickly and the oil. left of ten, is substantial. Typical over/under shot. In warm-ups, prior to doing a little surface prep, the ball squirted through the break point. After taking the shine off the ball I was able to move in and p
