Hammer Power Diesel Bowling Ball

Using the most versatile core design made by Hammer Power Diesel lives up to its name. The core is the original Diesel core modified by the addition of a high-density ring on the top. With this addition, the shape of the core stays symmetrical and the differential value is lowered. Power Diesel also flexes its performance muscle using the Power Whip Particle Pearl veneer, Hammer's strongest veneer to date. If you want the most hook in the Diesel series, take Power Diesel for a spin. The modified Diesel core provides a lower differential to produce additional length and a stronger breakpoint when matched up with Hammer's strongest coverstock ever, Power Whip Particle Pearl.

I love the Diesel line from Hammer and this happens to be my personal favorite from that line. This ball is drilled aggressive to gain maximum flare and it does just that! This is a hard arcing, controllable ball that eats oil! Great pin action, signature Hammer hit, and high scores on tough conditions! What more can one ask for? The particle pearl coverstock allows the ball to get through the heads smoothly and return strong on the backend. This is a beast of a ball! Next to my Thing Returns, this is one of my favorites! Hammer has discontiued this gem, so get one before they're gone!

After bowling a series just under average in league I practiced open bowling on a different pair of lanes. By this time the lanes were breaking down and my normal line (third arrow) was going to the "brooklyn" side of the head pin or through the nose, so i moved deeper to fourth arrow. Amazingly, I was still hooking left of the head pin. This type of inconsistent read this deep on lane told me just how aggessive this ball is, so I moved even deeper. Typically, I stand on 30 and aim at 15 to 18 going for a breakpoint of 7-10. As the lanes broke down i went to uncharted territory (for me anyway): lining up with the left gutter and aiming at 25, FIFTH ARROW! As I swung the ball out it arced the whole lane slamming flush in the hole destroying everything in its path! This proves that the Power Diesel creates massive area allowing you to open up the lane regardless of lane conditions! To open up the lane on heavy oil max this beast out and destroy the pins! If you can find one of these tank

I figured the Power Diesel would start to mellow after 19 months (my Deuce is beginning to mellow slowly), but it is surprising by keeping it at medium grit with periodic sandings, cleanings and polishings it hooks even harder than new and is my new heavy oil ball that i feel comfortable swinging from 3rd arrow (or just inside of it) and not worrying about recovery to the pocket (this thing is actually teaching me new ways to hook the ball). Truly a versatile weapon for medium to heavy oil! Get more bang for the buck with the Power Diesel, the tank from hell!

Finally got to see the potential of this tank on the first night of summer league. I found my zone in the second game and the ball crushed the pins like cockroaches with sound to boot, shot 219. With the strong backend its best for a typical bowler to play deeper than usual, a good relese helps too. (Mistakes in games 1and 3 lead to scores of 124and 129, respectively). When used on dry amp up the speed or use some polish because this ball likes to clean the gutter channels. With more patience in my game this ball will help me to reach a 600 series, but a 472 for me (157 avg) isn't bad, its still well above average as is this ball. Get more bang for the buck with the Power Diesel, the tank from hell!

Bought this one to complement my Diesel Particle and Big Block Diesel. Drilled it up pin over ring, cg under middle finger. I expected length out of the ball, but wasn't expecting the backend this one saves up for, even in oil! Ball clears the heads with such ease and is very easy to read to breakpoint. Very forgiving even on bad shots. Light hits carry messengers like no other Hammer I have thrown and flush shots send 10 in the pit repeatedly. Only area of concern is when the lanes start to dry out, you better be moving as they do. Ball will start to dive through the nose and then it will get interesting. I've found that adding some speed can also compensate for the ball's aggressive nature. Too bad Hammer put this on their discontinued list. It is nothing short of awesome and Hammerheads alike should grab one up before they're gone for good! Higly recommended!!! Spike

I have had, for the most part, nothing but praise for most of the new releases of Hammer stuff (or will as I get moving in my reviews!). Of all the new balls, the Diesel Particle was fast becoming my main ball. However, there's a new show in town, and the Power Diesel has been taking top billing. For the most part, I have been using 2 balls during the summer, the PD and my ever trustful Hi-Rev Offset. Occasionally, I will pull out my SledgeHammer as needed, but the majority of the games were with the 2 I mentioned. For the summer, on somewhat changing conditions, I averaged 226. I take that as a testament to what the balls can do for you if you are throwing good. I have it drilled somewhat aggressive, but not to the point where it has ever gotten snappy. The ball, if drilled so, has the potential to take off at your feet. It can also get down the lane all depending on your speed and line. Overall, I love this ball and it's become my new favorite for now. Next week..

Anybody that knows me or has read any of my reviews know that I use and absolutely love Hammer products. I currently use a Diesel Particle, Vicious Attack, Diesel Particle Pearl and a Faball Blue Pearl Hammer for my game. I am a down and in power stroker with a 198 average. All that being said, I bought a Power Diesel to replace my Diesel Particle on heavy gutter to gutter oil. It was a mistake. With my game, the Diesel Particle outperformed the Power Diesel to the tune of about 20 pins. I attribute the Power Diesel to a mid season slump of about 3 weeks that probably cost me having a 200 average for the year. The Power Diesel did have good carry when in the pocket, but the trouble was getting it to the pocket. The over/under reaction with this ball was really bad for me and I quickly lost confidence in it. However in its defense, I did have it drilled stacked leverage (my first experience with this drilling), so that could have been a factor. For now, I am going to stick with the Dies

I really love this ball its so versatile and can be adjusted for different conditions in a snap.It hooks a lot and has a smooth controlled arc to the pocket. When I get dialed in I am on fire!!!For instance I won the Junior Masters with it in Staten Island.I bowled in 3 do our die matches and one for the title.I bowled games of 203,247,276,and249.I shot 975 and averaged something around for 235.I must say though just because I'm 12 years old I don't need the ball to do all of the work for me.I can't get enough of this ball.

Ball Specs: 15 pounds Top Weight: 3.25oz Pin out: 2-3 inches Factory Surface I got first look at the new Hammer Line when I went to one of their Demo Days about three months ago. I really wanted to try out the Diesel series since everyone was telling me that those balls would fit my game like a glove...and they were so right. I drilled up my Power Diesel 5" 90 degree this put the pin right underneath my ring finger with the cg stacked underneath and below my grip line. I didn't need an extra hole. Before I took it out on the lanes I put a light coat of Black Magic on it, just to give it the same look as it was in the Demo Day. This ball is amazing on mediums. I was able to stand in my comfort area which is standing 20 and throwing it out to 8 at the arrows and working it out to 5 at the breakpoint. This was the exact reaction I have been looking for in my bag. Easy to get though the heads without too much effort. When it read the midlane, it didn't read it too soon o

Great ball, with big-time hitting power!!!! It goes where it needs to go, and it blows up everything it hits. It's helped me raise my average 20 pins since I bought it. It vaporizes pockets like a dream, and gives a consistent roll on tough shots. It has basically ended my days of hitting pocket and having the ball roll over like a French soldier at the end. There is nothing I can say bad about this ball. It goes and goes...and goes some more. I throw a hard tweener shot from between the first two arrows, and this ball carries the rack even when I overshoot it. It's very forgiving of bad shots too... Great job Hammer, keep bringing the pain!!!

The Likes: I had to get use to the ball at first. First of all the ball is polished to 1000 grit for use on Med-Heavy Oil and it does just that. I tried to swing the ball on Heavy Oil, but the ball would not recover and left me some real Art work on the lanes, so I pulled out the Carbide LRG to finish the job. The 3rd game was wide open, I could not miss with this ball, I would stand on 30 swing the ball to 10 and this ball crushed the pocket. I even threw a couple of tight shots between 14-10 and the ball held the line and made a hard arc at the end and killed the pocket. This is not a skid/flip ball it is smooth from start to finish. If you are looking for a Med-Heavy oil I would suggest you get one ASAP.

We have drilled tons of these balls in house, and i haven't heard anyone say a bad thing about this ball. This ball has an sweet coverstock and core match up. Next to the Turbo Diesel, this ball is about 5 boards stronger overall, with a similiar roll pattern, but just more bit. On the sport shots this ball has all the control that you need, and the bite to handle those tougher medium/heavy oil patterns. If you like the Hammer line, or want to try out Hammer again. This is a ball that you should put into your bag. Any questions, please email me at Bill@buddiesproshop.com Thanks Bill

Had this one for about a month now. Drilled 2-1/2" @ 75 deg. As long as the lanes are not flooded, this ball is the ball of choice. Goes a bit on the long side, makes a strong move, and punishes the pins. Very nice also for when the lanes get a bit spotty (wet-dry) because the drill allows the ball to clear the heads nicely, but not jump the second it finds a dry board. Very smooth, very even reaction that is not too flippy. As long as I don't pitch it too far right or miss too far left, I know I can stay in the pocket all night long. Maybe a bit too forgiving, but for those that just want to be able to grip and rip, you've got a winner here.

Wow...this ball has pure power. Will crush the pins...send messengers....keep the pins lows....and all that good stuff. I would recommend this ball for fast and slow ball speeds alike. Just make sure the drilling is set up right. This ball will cut through oil like a knife through hot butter. Just dont get it TOO far right...tends to come up light and leave some funky stuff. Also if you try hook the ball from end to end get ready for a ringing ten here and there. Oh ya..Dry lanes + this ball = BAD Dry lanes and put it away. Other than these few little problems...THIS IS ROCKS BUY IT NOW NOW NOW. Enough said.

This ball is amazing. I am a power player with alot of hand and alot of speed. There have been many big moving, oil-soaker, super hookers that I have still been able to throw through the break point... NOT THIS BABY! I litteraly had to get it up to my spare-ball speed (around 25-27 mph) before I could get this puppy to go through the break point. I had it drilled with the pin above my fingers at a 75 degree angle from the CG (5 inch pin). I needed the pin to be up there because due to my high track, anytime I get a pin below the fingers the flare goes over my finger holes. This was a fine set up, and I left it factory finish. I went out and used this on the house shot at a house that... makes sport shots look easy compared to the normal house shot. This is because the oil machine is in horrible shape, there are oil build ups all over the lane, the gutters are really deep making it really hard to get messengers, the pins are more beat up than Steve McNair, and the racks are alway

The ball was drilled up for length configuration and delivered pure arcing performance on long - 52, medium -48, and short -36 oil patterns. The Power Diesel not only has a predictable backend, but it just keeps on arcing through the pins to where even a shot sent too far wide has an excellent chance to hit the pocket solid. Amazing since this is a pearlized coverstock. I even left the oil on the ball during some shots and it still went through the pins with little to no deflection. The Power Diesel also looks very cool as it rolls down the lane for the asthetic enthusiast. Another Hard-Hitting Hammer success!

This is the best ball have ever had it's THE ball to have if you want something forgiving that hits HARD! I love this ball there are none better . I am a 171 avg. bowler and my first nite using this ball I a 267 with it , Thank You Hammer Power Diesel. The ball works out side and down the middle the only thing to remember is to make sure that you git the ball down on the lane do not loft the ball it dose not work like that , Let the ball do the work you don't have to kill your self to crank this ball it dose not need that.
