The Black Widow Pearl features the High Mass Bias Gas Mask core with flip block and the Violent Reactive Pearl coverstock to provide more length and more aggressive breakpoint on medium oil lane conditions. PAP=4" 3/4 up. Layout= pin up 4.5 " from PAP on the midline 4"-5" from CG-MB kicked out 2.5" from midline in thumb quad-BH 13/16" 1.5"deep. Let me just tell you this. I've heard bad things about this coverstock not holding up and a getting small cracks in it. I haven't rolled this ball very much yet, so this is yet to be seen. As for it's overall performance. I was absolutely floored with the amount of backend I got out of this ball. My home house runs a lot of oil usually to about 40' for their THS. I had to bring my Resurgence down to a 500 grit rough surface to get enough friction on it. Today I played a modified H.S. to 42' of medium-heavy oil. My Resurgence played the normal 12-5 I usually play there, however, this BWP was outstanding on the backend. I had to move inside to fresh oil when I pulled it out. I played about 19-7 pretty consistantly, which is a ver uncomfortable shot for me. I rarely ever play that far inside with any sort of success. I rolled 217, 258, 249

Drilled this one up pin above ring finger CG stacked no extra hole needed. Was looking for something to help me out to give me an early read on the lane with out burning the lane up to fast. Was also needing something to help me through the carry down and still maintain and drive hard in the backend. This ball does exactly what it was intended to do. Great first ball out of the bag for me. Ball didn't burn up the lanes at all and just had to move left 2 board at the 3rd game and still had a great look at the picket everytime. The Widow line is defiantly a great line up for the price and has proven to be a solid performer like the others.<scri

I bought this ball because I loved the way the original Black Widow worked for me when it was new. It had great carry, and the most powerful backend of any ball I'd thrown. After a year, even deep cleaning and taking care of the surface the ball lost nearly all the bite it originally had. The rev rate, and speed I throw with was too aggressive for my usual house pattern with the solid, so the extra length of the Pearl was a welcome addition to my game. My average is up 10+ pins with the Pearl since its reaction is much more consistant, and versatile on my house conditions. Edit: Just resurfaced my BWS, and had great results.<scri

I am 190 average bowler i bowl on a typical all wood house shot. first game with this ball right out of the box i rolled a 239. and then just 2 weeks ago i rolled my first 300 with it. this is a great ball i would recomend it to anyone from a begginer to a pro. very predictable ball and very easy to drill. GET THIS BALL:) i love it will by a nother one already resurfest it one time but i did not take care of it very well my brother has one that has over 200 games on it and has the same great hook that it did out of the box. I recommend using reacta clean on it.

This Is a Great Constant Reacting Ball.....Has Upped My Average by 15 Pins..It Is My Main Ball....Do Need to Keep it Clean, as seems to squirtOn heavy Oil.......when Just Starting league Games after fresh Oil...Ball Slides a Little at First.....Controll it by slowing down a Little....half way thru the first game......it settles In Highly Reccomend this ball.......You will not be dissappointed...it is speed sensative....just adjust that and this Ball will not Disappoint you .....Really sad that You need 100 words on Overall review...I think keeps People from giving them...are you listening????

The only game I threw with this ball I shot a 278.. Easily could have been a 300.. As long as I got it out to the right it snapped back and found the pocket no matter where I threw it.. Only bad ball I threw was an overthow.. It still came back but just a little light. . This ball has a lot of skid and a lot of flip.. I had it drilled for skid flip with a lot of angle, but kept it controllable and it is just that.. A lot of length with great control.. It does just what I hoped..At least for the first game OOB.. Hopefully it'll stay like this forever..

Ball is one of the sharpest looking balls on the market. Reacts great out of the box. After a few weeks it started to lose its sharp breakpoint. Resurfacing has killed the reaciton all together. It has been 4 weeks since the resurfacing, and only now after bowling about 30 games and getting a track back on the ball has the hook started to return to this ball. I will keep trying but I am also going to get a black widow bite. I don't get any more length out of this ball than the original black widow, although the overall hook on drier lanes is about the same.

MY rep gave one to test a new layout on in hopes i could use the ball on lighter conditions. i drilled it 6 inches from my PAP. leaving the cg dead center grip and mass bais three inches to the right of my thumb hole. ( i later added a balance hole to take the ball to 3/4 neg. side) my ball speed is about 18-19mph with around 450 rev rate. 12 degree axis tilt. Alls i can say is wow this ball really moves on the backend. could not control it even with a weak layout on a short oil or burnt up pattern. The ball succeeds very well for me on the medium( standard fresh house shot) second series league it is just too much ball for me. On longer patterns the ball did become alittle a squirty if there was any carrydown. Anytime you had clean backends and solid head oil the ball was amazing it gave me tons of forgiveness it i got it to far out. but tugging inside normally condemned me to something ugly. I sell this ball to alot of people needing that extra finish at the end of the

since the brunswick inferno i was looking for a polished bowling ball that i can handle with. the strong hooking motion of a polished bowling ball is not to my advantage. but the widow pearl is very controllable and it`s backend reaction is not typical for a polished bowling ball. goes long and on the dry it turns hard to the pocket. it easily revs up and create a big overall reaction. that the hitting power is crazy is nothing new for a hammer ball...hammer balls taking ten down...no matter what...somtimes it is a little too jumpy...if you miss the pocket it leaves ugly splits...so be careful about your ballspeed....

I've been bowling about 40 years and threw my first sanctioned 300 with this ball during league. I had it drilled skid/flip because I was looking for something that went long and turned hard. It does just that. I wanted something to compliment my No Mercy which I use as my oily lane ball. I was using the Columbia Action as my league ball. This ball blew it away! I had it drilled with the #1 pattern. The break was controllable and hit very hard. I was trying to decide between this and the Twisted Fury. I chose this because it was rated to go longer and finish stronger.

a great ball for an oily condition, or for someone with a lot of ball speed and revs. but be prepared to go to something a lot less aggressive if the lanes start to break down. i had trouble keeping up with the lanes. if you can keep up with the conditions, you could see some very high scores, but if you struggle making adjustments, then this may be too much ball for you. i would reccomend this ball for any experienced bowler, especially a hard cranker. if you cant crank the ball, dont waste your money. if you can, try it, and watch your average jump!

I had it drilled with the pin above and between the fingers, which I was told should give greater length and a greater backend move. Well, at first I got so much length that it never moved at all unless the lanes had dried out first. I then sanded it down to 1200-grit, and a killer ball was suddenly in my hands. For whatever reason it revs up quicker than any other ball I've played with, and it holds its line beautifully until it screams towards the pocket the last quarter of the lane and hits the pins with an explosive carry. On really slick lanes I can't open up and get it back to the pocket, but on medium to medium-dry lanes, this is my go-to ball every time.

I have used this ball for over 50 games including tournaments, and this ball is awesome. My pro shop guy told me that it had a lot of backend, but you just don't know until you throw it. The ball goes long and hits like nothing else. If you don't like throwing stikes don't buy this ball, but for everyone else you need to pick one up. If anyone is looking for a pearl ball and wants a lot of backend this is the ball for you, in my opinion you will not be disappointed. hammer hit it out of the ball park with this one.

This ball is over rated and should be used in houses that have very clean backends... Sorry but I am not feeling the need to lie on this ball because I am a true cranker and was really looking for something extra that would make this ball stand out.... It really reminds me of the Freakout by Track a couple of years ago and I looked that ball.. Bought 2 of them. The drill pattern inside the box set for carry down is full of it because the was the reason I purchased the ball ... I was trying to get my Paradigm Domination to complement my Black Widow and after having a variety of things not work, I decided to get the Black Widow Pearl. This ball is exactly what I was looking for. I drilled it the exact same way as my original Black Widow, and it is great. I goes a little bit longer and has more backend then the original. This is was it is supposed to do and it performs as promised. I like to start with the orginal and once the lanes start to break down and carry down, I bring out the pearl and is works perfectly. I probably wouldn't suggest starting with the pearl if the lanes are oilly to start with, but for pretty much any other lane condition this ball will work as well as any other.

Best Ball on the market. As long as I am doing what I am suppose to there will be 10 in the pit. As the lanes break down a little extra speed is needed but the line doesn't have to change. You can stick with the line you are comfortable with just a litte speed adjustment will keep it in the pocket. I have only left 1 solid 8 pin, which is a lot better then the last ball(Name not mentioned to protect the innocent) I used. The coverstock soaks up the oil quickly allowing for the ball to react naturally even on heavily oiled lanes.

Great Ball on our synthetic lanes. Being an "old guy", I could not push down far enough. With the weight hole added it's perfecto. No 10 pins when I do not mess the ball up. It's better than I am. I shoot squared up over the second arrow. The angle of the hook puts it in the pocket with lots of energy. I hope that I do not have to pay for the pins when this thing breaks them. By using a simple hook and ball speed, I think that I can overcome some of the effect of the changing oil pattern with this ball. The finish is original, right out of the box. I do not believe in polishing, except as a last resort. I have not been clocked, but I throw pretty hard.

Great Ball - Great Buy - Get one This ball has been very predictable after 20 games played. Light oil conditions do not keep strikes from happening. You do have to aim for outside arrows. Heavy outside oil patterns require you to stay tight to arrow 3. Have faith in the ball, it will not let you down. This ball has great potential to your go to ball in high pressure conditions. This bal may not be the best ball for a beginner, but it is not a difficult ball to learn on. I think this ball will be of use to all skill levels and produce the results you expect. Keep this ball clean and it will be good you to throughout its life.

I love this ball im more of a cranker and put alot of revs on the ball and this ball carrys just about every light hit and the only way you leave ten pins is by a messenger missing it. like i said 770 series out of the box is pretty good. Its a pretty good ball if u want to swing it from about 19 board to 15 ish or when the lanes are fresh oiled just throw it down and in but when the lanes break down this thing turns into a beast but watch out it gets speed sensitive and if you slow it down then watch it go high or brooklyn.

After all i heard about this ball i finaly tryed to drill one up. BWP Drilled pin under and 3 3/8 from my PAP. MB on 45 degree AP Drilled pin under and 3 3/8 from my PAP. CG on 45 degree Overall this ball best suit mediumlong oil (39-42) for my game Goes long whit a strong FLIP ARC Compared to AP this ball dont cover as much boards as the AP When the lanes starts to break down and the AP moves to angular and to strong a couple of boards right and then the BWP is Incredible. Has very good carry on anything from light-med to med- heavy.

This a fanatastic ball for most bowlers. If you like the original black widow then this is your go to ball! This is as good as my Ultimate Inferno (which i loved)! You need to pick up one of these, this is totally worth the money. This is the first hammer ball that i have owned and i must say, Hammer, you will be getting another customer in me. I was kind of shift about getting a hammer after i heard that they do not last long but all i can say is i hope this lasts forever. Nothing hits like a HAMMER!!

Just for a reference for those of you that have posted previously. The Black Widow pearl was not created to cover more boards then the original Black Widow. a Pearlized ball will push further down the lane with a similar back end. The widow pearl was made so you can get through the transition while throwing a ball that will allow you to continue to throw the same line you started with provided you were throwing the black widow. The the pearlized widow should not be covering more boards then what the original black widow does. If it does for you then you are doing something wrong. its sad to watch people improperly review and post about a ball.

This is a great ball from Hammer. I bowled with Hammer products a long time ago until switching to Ebonite. I started using Hammer again when Ebonite bought them out a while back. You can miss your mark inside or outside and the ball still gets through the heads and doesn't hook early...if your shot goes through the nose though, you do leave some horrendous splits sometimes. I throw it between the third and fourth arrow to around 5. When the lanes start drying up, I'll play between the 4th and 5th arrows. You definitely have area to play with with the Pearlized versus the regular black widow. I did have to have leverage weight drilled out to rebalance the ball to make it legal though.Otherwise, it's another great ball from Hammer/Ebonite. To Tomsticks: I didn't mean to misconstrue the more "area" with the pearl vs. regular widow, but in my situation it's true. I had both drilled up the exact same way with the same layout, and when I changed balls to try to throw the same lin

compared to the original black widow this ball goes longer and cracks harder on the backend just like advertised. I still wouldn't classify this ball as a skid/flipper because it still has a little bit of midlane read. Compared to the black widow it is about 3-5 overall boards weaker. The hitting power is unbelieveable. this ball throws pins everywhere and keeps them low. this ball responds to dry very aggressively, so i suggest throwing it on more evenly blended patterns. another possitive is that if you fudge it with your release or flip it a little bit it still reacts like a monster and rolls up and hits like a ton of bricks anyways. one warning is that if you turn it early or overhit it this ball will not hold, and expect to shoot a split. even though this ball is pearlized, its still very strong, so dont expect to use it on dry conditions unless you have really high ball speed or a low rev rate. overall great ball When i first got this ball the backend was so dramatic tha
