This ball shares the coverstock with the Violet 3-D Offset Hammer but it has a different weight block that is far less aggressive. It came out of the box polished. When I threw it on a medium condition with carrydown, all it mostly did was skid. It hooked only 5 boards. After hitting it with a green scotch brite pad, it went another 5 boards. The carry into the pins was pretty solid as long as the ball speed was kept down. This ball is best for drier conditions or when there is very little carrydown. It's pretty easy to control when the lanes are toast or the back ends are flying. For heavier oil you are better off with something else.
