Ebonite V2 Strong/R Bowling Ball

The V2 Strong/R core is the original V2 Strong’s medium RG, super high differential core. And, the power’s in Ebonite’s new veneer, a supped up version of Trimax Reactive Resin. This combination gives V2 Strong/R more strength in the midlane and continuous force through the backend, especially on heavy oil patterns.

This ball is actually the first Ebonite I've ever thrown, and I was impressed. It reads the lane extremely well, and reacts very smooth. I have it drilled stacked leverage with the pin next to the ring finger and a weight hole. I needed a ball that would read the lane early and have a consistent move to the pocket. This ball does that. However, the out-of-the-box finish is too much for this ball, as it reads too early and rolls out at about 50 feet. It hit like a 10 pounder for the first few games with it. Shined it up to around 1200-grit and it's now skidding a little longer, and storing the energy for a later break, and a harder hit into the pocket. Doesn't roll-out any more. My shot, to give a reference: Down-and-in (8 board preferred, but will move as far out to 4 or as far in as the 15 if needed) power tweener (18MPH, 250-ish RPM). My other ball is a 3-year old dead Columbia Throttle, and I bought the Vortex to complement the Throttle. Now that I've got it figured o

It's a good ball for the first game on fresh lanes. It was fun for a while, until the lanes began to break down. Oil would start catching onto my ball, and the microfiber towel I purchased couldn't even take it all off. During a broken down pattern, the backend reactions went missing, I was extremely disappointed. The price listed at the pro shop I purchased it at was over DOUBLE what's listed here. I wasn't relying on the accuracy of this website though, I purchased it when it was still a `new` ball. This is a good ball if you need more hit, more backend, and more overall hook for a ball during the first ball of play.

This ball cuts through the oil and will turn early. It will set up nice and continue it's way into the pocket and then it's lights out. This ball is drilled with the pin under the ring finger with the CG out about .5 of an inch. Flare hole is below the axis about 1 inch. If you throw it wide, it will be very forgiving. This ball is highly recommended as a medium to oily ball. It also has a very hard hit. Not too many pins to be left. Do not use on dry conditions, it's not made for this. This is Ebonite's best medium to oily ball released right now.
