Since i was looking for a dry lane ball, My pro shop guy recomended this ball to me. I had two V-2 solids, and thwe first of two V-2 strongs, and of course the V-2 pearl. With summer league fast approaching I was in need of some equipment of getting down the drier lanes, and was surprised by how a pearlized particle ball could do just that! A 4 inch pin, with a heavy top, I believe 4.0 ounces, I was amazed just how great this weapon was! I used this one, when my Big hit solid, was to much, and the Jolt pearl was flipping hard on the backend. I pulled out this beauty, and watched it roll into the pocket! In the bluegrass state games, which are known for the drying conditions, bowling doubles with my son, watching everyone having trouble keeping thier balls from hooking too much, mine just rolled and made a devistating shot! HeHe, yep took home with the gold that day! Then soon after, my car was stolen,...then found on the other side of town, with out any of my equipment inside the car. But still this was and is a great ball from ebonite!

What can I say, If you like down and in than this is your ball. Rarely overreacts to dry but sometimes will slip too much in oil and not break. The best part about this ball is that it has a very predictable roll and a nice even arcing reaction, it just walks into the pocket. This ball is versatile and you can move in and circle the ball out to the dry and it will come back if you slow roll it. You can also move outside and just fire fastballs from the outside line and it will hold line where more aggressive balls would go through the nose. This is my most used and favorite ball, its too bad they are not that durable and show wear quickly.<sc

well this ball was drilled to go long and i thought it would hook much cause it said dry on it. well, obviously that meant to put the ball away when the lanes get dry. yea this was the best ball in my bag when nothing was hooking, just pull it out let it sexy itself up and then just set it on the rack for like 5 to 10 a dem dangs for lil warm up you know.........oops.........well yea when the lanes are flooded just pull out the v2 dry, and let it be renamed the v2 flooded.

I purchased this ball off a friend of mine for $25.00. What a great investment. If I had the chance I would have bought this ball brand new. This ball is my main spare ball. Throwing at the 10 pin is no problem. When I throw it right it doesn't move, if I push it out and think its in the gutter it reacts like a resin ball and hangs on to get the 10. When the lanes get dry the ball doesn't over react at all. It skids through the dry heads and reacts int he back end. Every once in a while it like to skid to much but you can't blame that on a ball that is not made to hook any way. Ball also has great carry when it gets dry so I have no problems throwing it. I have had it two weeks and I have had 2 people looking to get one from the pro shop. Too bad for them its discontinued. Great overall ball for its name sake.

This ball is very sensitive to speed and oil. I tried this ball on a 38 foot christmas tree pattern and had little luck. The ball just kept sliding and sliding. Worked great for spares! If you play on a short 28 foot house pattern, then this may be the only ball you need. The ball works great on this type of pattern as long as you throw straight up the first arrow and keep your speed slow. If thrown consistantly, the carry is excellent. Ball would be great for players who throw slow. If there is heavy oil, then keep this ball in the trunk of your car!

i was looking for a ball that wouldn't hook much because at this one bowling center i normally end up kicking the ball return if i get over to play between second and third. this ball is great if i would like to play straight up 2nd arrow and is somewhat touchy, but all that can do is help my release. this ball is also great to pick up 7 pins with since it doesn't hook much. just watch out if you put enough hand in it it will snap in the backend suddenly. now i just have to see if i can get enough words. let me just check to see how many i got<

drilled this one 5.0 x 3.5 with near max pos static... I know alot of a balls reaction and charactor is how we deliver it, but when a ball is different than your others, then I believe in those cases it's the ball... I have NEVER rolled over the thumb hole before, until this ball... maybe it's the combo of low diff with how I laid it out, didn't like this ball when I started to have that problem, which happened right away. Also drilled it up for 'DRY', but didn't like how it would do nothing on oil, (expected), but when it hit dry, it turned left. So a thumping 'dry' ball that hooks wasn't what I had in mind... thanks, but no-thanks.

I had a big Friday night dilemma: 34 feet of very light oil on a old, choppy wood lane house that within 5 frames dried up to nothing. Every ball I own, even those with advertised low differentials, was hooking madly on the backends. Moving left only proved frustrating as I was either leaving 10 pins due to the extreme angle of entry, or washing out completely. Increasing speed is rarely an option for me as I like my stroker approach and would rather change equipment than speed. So, against the advice of my pro, I bought the V2 dry. (My pro felt that this ball would over hook as well, and that I was better off using plastic. My feeling is that plastic, although hooking on these lanes, "pings" off the pins and does not give the reaction needed.) The V2 dry is the answer! Yes, it still hooks, but there is amazing length, and I can play right of the track and return to my comfortable speed. And due to the core, the ball gets enough angle to stir the pins up at the pocket. I really

Ebonite truly outdone themselves with this one!! I've been through so many so called dry lane balls..and either they hit like a marshmellow because you have to turn them so hard which in turn causes them to burn up early or they will snap very hard on the back end. This V2 dry is absolutely awesome!!! If its dry I can use my normal release move back right on the approach and let er rip.. the pin carry is excellent. I can play further right with this ball than any other ball Ive owned excluding 3 piece urethane equipment. The hit is hard..the reaction is extremely readable. A+++++ to Ebonite and thankyou for such a great ball for a twister.

THIS BALL IS THE ANSWER TO MY BOWLING PRAYERS. I HAVE SPENT ALLOT OF MONEY ON BALLS THAT ARE SUPPOSE TO BE FOR DRY LANES ONLY TO HAVE THEM HOOK OFF THE LANE, WELL NOT THIS BALL. BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ FROM EBONITE ABOUT THIS BALL TAKING THE PLACE OF YOUR URETHANE BALL BECAUSE I HAVE STOPPED CARRYING MINE. YOU GET ALL THE LENGTH YOU GOT FOR A URETHANE BALL BUT WITH THAT EXTRA POP AT THE END TO SEND THE PINS FLYING. JUST TO GIVE YOU SOME IDEA UP UNTILL I GOT THIS BALL I WAS STILL CARRYING A PEARLIZED RED TURBO WITH ME ALL THE TIME AFTER I FOUND A SHOT IN PRACTICE WITH THAT BALL I GOT OUT MY V2 DRY AND SHOT THE SAME LINE WITH IT AS I WAS WITH MY TURBO AND I ONLY HAD TO MOVE TWO BOARDS DEEPER WITH MY FEET. I ONLY HAD TO MOVE BECAUSE OF THE BETTER BACKEND THAT I WAS GETTING FROM THE V2. TO SAY THE LEAST I WAS IN TOTAL SHOCK AND WAS GRINNING FROM EAR TO EAR, ALMOST LICKING MY CHOPS AT WHAT I KNOW IS TO COME IN THE FUTURE FOR MYSELF AND THIS BALL. THE PRO THAT DRILLS MY BALL DID NOT WANT

I bought this ball to use at tournements when the lanes have dried out so much that I can't get anything else down the lane. It works for that. Not quite how I expected but it does work. Hooks just as early as my other equipment but hooks so much less that it stays around the pocket. Hits weak sometimes also, if there is oil on the pin decks it deflects a lot. Does not actually replace my reacitve ball or my urethane ball since both of them slide much further but does provide me with another option on a tough lane condition. 2/1/04 Actually encountered a league shot that had dried up enough that everything else in my bag was over reacting. This ball performed very well. 3/1/04 Won a tournament with this ball. Condition was very short oil (5-5 maybe 20 ft. down the lane) This ball rocked.

Only disappointment I can speak of is the misleading advertising on this ball as one that "Hooks less than plastic". This simply isn't the whole truth. It flares less than plastic, but was outhooking my Lightning Flash by 5 boards. I still believe Ebonite has a definite winner in this ball. I hope they don't discontinue it due to slow sales. Bowlers of all styles have been needing a ball like this for a long time. Hopefully Ebonite displays some patience. Mine is drilled straight up.....am thinking about buying another one a leveraging up just to see if there is any difference in the reaction. Good luck with it!

I was astounded with the length. I went 5x5 and was so impressed that I bought another one and went stack leverage. Guess what. It still reacts the same. I scuffed the leverage to even the roll but you need some hand with the ball. Not a great inside ball. It's too lengthy. I'm playing on house shots so my thoughts may change playing later blocks. I recommend it but be careful how you drill it. Leverage or 4x4 would be my advice. It complements the pearl V2 which rolls earlier than this ball. Ebonite has done a good job maybe too good of a job.

This is the answer to prayers offered by bowlers without a lot of ball speed. Finally, those poor souls (my wife is one; this ball was purchased by me and used by her) who can rev it a little but can't generate high speed have something that will explode on impact and not leave many corner pins. The V2 dry is the closest thing yet to the way old blue hammers (she has 4 of them) react, and with better carrying power. I can't believe other ball manufacturers do not address this segment of the bowling population. Kudos to Ebonite!
