NVS

This season, Ebonite is bringing more hook and more backend continuation to the lanes with the latest addition to the NV series, NVS. “The NV series raises the bar on performance through technology and is synonymous with length and strength,” said brand manager, Ed Gallagher. “The new NVS is an extension of this highly revered line, offering even more friction on the lane for added power in the midlane and backend than Total NV.” NVS features Ebonite’s brand new Traxion Reactive 0.39 coverstock with a 2000-grit Abralon® with Powerhouse™ Factory Finish surrounding the ball’s Spike Core (version 1A). Its pearl cover is extremely versatile and can be changed to alter the ball’s reaction in medium to heavy oil. In Black/Red/Gold Pearl, 12-16 pounds, the competition will be very envious of the NVS this season. The worldwide release date for NVS is July 30. *Coverstock: Traxion Reactive -0.39 *Core: 1A Spike Symmetric Mass Bias *Color: Black/Red/Gold Pearl

I drilled this ball up as soon as it came out and never really liked it very much. I did finally shoot a 300 with it but the lanes had to be perfect.. Ball rolls well through the mids but when the lanes dry out, ball likes to check up early and it won't ever see the pocket. If the lanes are just right with quite a bit of carry down, the ball rolls well and carries the rack well.. Drill this ball with the pin above the fingers and get some lenght out of it.. It will check up early

because i cleaned this bowling ball every frame with my micro fiber towel and then after 10 games used the Ebonite Cleaner on the ball. This ball is still my favorite ball because i have mine drilled early so that helps with the hook loss but it is very predictable; so when i bowling tournaments it helps me find the same line each time. Ball is very strong off of the dry boards but tends to slide in heavy oil without backend. I recommend this ball as long as you know upfront that its going to die out enough to change the reaction and that you need dry boards for this ball to move

Although I've only had the ball for about 6 days, I absolutely love this ball. It's drilled perfect for me, and I can play a variety of different angles with it. Currently I'm playing the first arrow and it's hooking perfectly for me. I definitely will have this ball for a long time, and it's definitely by top ball in my arsenal right now. I tried it at an Ebonite Demo Day and it was amazing. My other ball is a Rule GP2, which is just not workng for me anymore. I can't recommend the NVS more.<sc

i liked the ball right outta the box for about 12 games, then i started having problems, hooking early, hooking late, when the guy drilled it he told me it may need a weight hole, so i had him put one in it so it would go a bit deeper, what a difference...have shot some big games 279 277 265 its not so much that i dont really like it, its that my black widow shredded alot harder than this, and was way more consistent....i had a total NV given to me and that ball must just not have had the correct layout for me on it...and i thought the NVS was more fit for my game than the total NV when others said this ball was a dud

This is the greatest ball to date that I've thrown will carry much better than any other ball. Doesn't seem to leave splits on poor shots and tends to be quite destructive when thrown properly. If thrown with less fingers will leave solid 10's but that's with all my balls. If extra fingers and more room to move this ball will come from nowhere to correct itself. In the league I'm albe to throw this ball we have alot of straight ballers so carry down is a problem which tends to take away the finish of the NVS. All in all I give this ball a 10 and plan to use it for a long time.

This ball is labelled High Performance, and that's a good label because it really is. It is the first bowling ball I've purchased for myself, and it has taken me from a 125 average to 5 200 games, 3 500 series, and a couple of 75 over games and 140 over series in a month. Having new shoes and not throwing a house ball really helps I guess. Versus a couple of balls I've thrown against, it leaves WAY less 10 pins than a Black Widow when thrown into the pocket, and carries better than the Twisted Fury.

I just got this ball very cheap the other day, and I have to say I would have gladly paid more for it. I got it in it's OOB condition, and it had too much length for my liking. I had it dulled down to 1000 grit and now it is amazing. It still has great length even at 1000 grit surface. It still has nice length with a very smooth, continuous finish. Even though it has a shined surface out of the box, it isn't as speed sensitive as most pearl balls. It hits tremendously hard and will come back from most anywhere as long as you don't overthrow it. If you have a slower ball speed, the OOB surface would be ok, but I throw it about 18-19 mph and it would just got a little too long and wouldn't carry very well. I'm looking forward to shooting some good scores with this awesome ball.

For me, this was simply not nearly as aggressive as the hype suggested. Judging from my cranker team mates, I feel that a high-rev player gets infinitely more out of it than a tweener like myself. To begin with, I had to sand it down to 1200 grit to get it to move as much as my Total Inferno which I was seeking a more aggressive complement to. It is also very release sensitive. When I force myself to put a high roll track on it, I get a smooth arc that absolutely crushes the deck, but when the track moves down a bit (which my hand subconsciously has an inclination of doing) it produces a more inconsistent roll that is difficult to control. I have, however, seen on my teammates what a beast it can be for a high-rev player on medium to medium-heavy oil, where it gives good length and a sharp, angular back end. So all in all, I’m not saying that it’s not a good ball; I’m just saying that it’s not for everyone.

THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE BALLS IN MY BACK FOR TOURNEMENTS. USALLY WHAT I SEE ON A SPORT OR TOURNY SHOT ITS WET HEADS AND DRY BACKENDS THIS BALL GETS THRU THE HEADS BUT GETS TRAXION IN THE MIDLANE. BUT WITH THE DRY BACKEND IT STAYS SMOOTH AND BLOWS UP THE PINS THIS IS MY FAVORITE TOURNY BALL. I HAVE ALL THE NV'S INCLUDING THE FIRST ONE CALLED THE NV AND I HAVE THE TOTAL AND THIS BY FAR SURPASSES THEM IN PREDICTIBILTY AND MIDLANE ROLL. I JUST GOT THIRD PLACE IN A HAMMER SHOOTOUT I USED MY NVS AND ONLY HAD TO MOVE ONE BOARD LEFT IN FIVE GAMES. WHICH WAS GOOD COMPARED WHEN OTHERS GOT BAD GAMES DURING TRANSITION. AND I ENDED UP FINSIHING THIRD OVERALL I GOT A TV.

Tried this ball at a ebonite demo. It is a very good looking ball. Even though it is polished it hooks a lot. The NVS to me is much better then the NV. The NVS does everything the NV wished it could do. The NV is very shaky to me, and very unpredictable. Aslo didn't hit hard like the hype is rumoring. On the other hand the NVS is different. Its very controllable. Has a Strong backend which makes this ball hit unbelievably hard. Revs up right out of the release. Can play numerous of lines. And its THE SAME CORE, just flip around a bit.

this ball is so powerful. if you read my review on the Total NV, this ball its so much harder and it carrys better as well. my proshop put a 10000 grit on it and it hooked so much earlier and more powerful then it did before. i have been bowling with it for over a month and its still has the same amount of hook it started. i almost bowled a 300 with it on a tournment shot but i messed up. With the NVR coming out soon, this ball will not be looked at as much but it will still power over the the pins. with as many games as i have bowled with, i didnt have to move more than four bourds at the beginning of the games. this ball is a must buy if you want more strikes and higher games. Keep on Bowling

If you can't hook this ball, then you can't hook any ball. This is easily the strongest ball I have ever thrown. It made the Total NV seem like a dry lane ball. It had a mid lane roll and then an arcing breakpoint in the backend. When used on the proper conditions or with the proper matchup, it is hard to beat (which ball isn't?), but especially high rev players may find few conditions to play with this extremely aggressive ball from Ebonite. Perhaps the best feature of this ball is that despite it's ultra aggressive hook potential, it still has a controllable backend. Overall, not bad, but loses points for it's useability.

ANOTHER SUCCESS FROM EBONITE. WHAT MORE CAN I SAY. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR BACKEND, POWER AND CARRY, YOU MUST HAVE THAT BALL. I ALSO HAVE THE INFINITE ONE AND THE FIRST MONTH WITH THAT BALL.... 2 PERFECT GAMES! THE TECHNOLOGY IS AMAZING. IF YOU WANT TO PERFORM THESE DAYS YOU MUST GET SOME EQUIPMENT THAT IS COMPATIBLE WITH THE STYLE YOU HAVE, AND THE DRILLING IS SO IMPORTANT. YOU CAN'T DRILL A BALL PERFECTLY IF YOU ARE NOT SURE WHAT YOU NEED. GO TO YOUR LOCAL PRO SHOP AND DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS TO YOUR FRIENDS. YOU NEED TO HAVE THE RIGHT BALL IN YOUR HAND AND REMEMBER........BOWL TO WIN!!

Great ball but very specific conditions of use ill post another review on longevity of the ball. How many games before it loses hook. Well first things is first pin is above my ring finger with the mass bias slightly kicked out. The ball started on a fresh house shot and i was playing around 30-35 and swinging out the the right gutter Ball was coming back so sharp that either striking off a light hit or going through the nose..Pretty much you have to be very accurate with how much you swing and how far out. If you hit the dry boards to early the ball rolls up extremely hard

i got this ball just this week today was the first time i had ever thrown it and i used it for my league i shot my first 700 and had a 257 game with it. This ball is one of the best pieces of equipment out there if not the best. I love a lot of hook and backend and if that is what u love then u should get this ball. I was hitting around 20 and swinging it to about 8 and it was coming back dead flush......So i recommend this ball to anyone looking into gettin a new ball for the fall

Ball rolled very nice and stores the energy well. Picks up and turns real nice and carries very well. If you get the ball out to friction too soon the ball likes to check up really quick and will nose dive on you just like any other ball but the NVS is not as forgiving as other balls would be Keep the ball in the oil and let it roll and it will get the job done. GREAT BALL. Compared to the Total NV, it's not as good in my opinion because the roll on the NV was much smoother and more predictable but the NV line is a great set of equipment<sc

I was pretty excited when we got the new Ebonite NVS in this past Tuesday so of course I had to try one. From what Ebonite was aying it was going to be a great ball and if it performed like the Total NV it would be. Ebonite says that the NVS is stronger than the Total NV and since I like stuff to get down the lane I decided to drill this one pin above the bridge, cg out about 1.5" from center of my grip and cg 2" right of my thumb. My PAP os 4 3/4" right and 1/2 up. I wanted to see what the NVS would do on a fresh house shot so right after thet oiled the lanes I put on my shoes. The first couple of pitches I played about 20 out to around 8 and to my surprise the NVS had trouble making it back to the hole. I thought that maybe they hadn't stripped the lanes when they ran them so I got out my Total NV and played the same shot. The Total NV rolled just like it always had a ripped the rack. So I went back to the NVS and moved 5 right and used the same target. This time the NVS

I cant really say how this compares to my total NV. As of right now, it didnt seem stronger. However, it was OOB finish and the total NV is at 1000 with a bit of polish. The backend is nice on this one. It hits pretty strong. This ball doesnt really like dry lanes though. Im sure you're gonna need a bit of oil to get it to react accordingly. I dont want to knock the ball because the lanes were burnt, but I did want to get a review in for those of you thinking about it. The colors are beautiful! It looks very nice all shiny. Ill give it a month or so and post a follow up review on the ball.
