Reaction Roll
Who else but Columbia 300ï¾® could combine the crucial elements of power and performance so beautifully? The new Reaction™ Roll and Ricochet are the result of two years of R & D testing and development, with one goal in mind - create a two ball arsenal that provides superb hooking power with increased durability. The Reaction Roll is designed for heavy oil in the front and midlane, producing a strong curve and continuous backend reaction. This is all made possible by an enhanced version of our TEC™ coverstock called MegaTEC™.

Our Reaction Roll knows what to do with the challenge of heavy oil in the front and midlane. Its MegaTEC, which is our TEC coverstock kicked up a notch, produces a strong curve and continuous backend reaction. Shows you where a couple of busy years in R&D gets you. Pairs up perfectly with our Reaction Ricochet.

the ball reacts well in oil if you go to a house that has medium oil get the ball but throw reallt slow, if there is no oil dont get the ball, its will hit the pocket when you throw it right. but you cant throw a series with this ball. once the lane breaks down you are constently moving over and arows. you also have to throw the ball at least 14 M.P.H to make sure you hit the pocket, if you throw to slow you can go way brooklyn and ruin the shot, this means you have to be consistent

I'm a stroker who likes to let the ball work for me. This ball is the best oil ball I've ever thrown. All I have to do is put the ball out there and it will flip gradually over and punish the pins. The only weak hits come when your speed is too high. Being an oil ball, it definetely doesn't snap. So if you're looking for an oil ball that does this, then keep searching, it'll take a while. The only reason I gave it 9 pins is since it really needs oil. The ball will never make it through a set with 9 other guys bowling with you. So if you're looking for a ball that you never have to put down all night, then it's not for you. But if you're looking for a ball that has the power you get in the 2nd & 3rd games right away, then pick this ball up... That is...if you can find one anymore. I got a new one off eBay and there were still plenty more left from distributors.

I picked up a 15 lb. Roll to replace my Reaction Arc. All I can saw is "WOW"!!!!! This ball grabs and hits like a ton of bricks. It ain't a pretty ball but the strikes are beautiful. You can't be afraid to throw this one out there because it's coming back, I promise you. I also found that it holds up well throughout the three game set with minor adjustments, but I am a lefty and usually no one is burning up my oil. Definitely my go to ball for heavy oil and carry down. There are more than a few available on e-bay. If you're a stroker who's had trouble getting power into the pocket, do yourself a favor and buy this ball.

This ball is awesome, I am a stoker (or so im told). I use it on all wood conditions. Start all the way left, throw out to 10 board on fresh oil, comes back everytime. It has a very nice continous arc to the pocket. I usually dont like arcy balls, but WOW this thing is amazing, i wish i started using these types of ball earlier. threw a 691 first time using it (225, 222, 244) my new high series. I recommend this ball for anyone who wants a great heavy oil ball, just remember to put it away for dry lanes....i hope this review helps!

This ball just doesn't do anything for me. I have a pretty decent hook, and this ball just didn't want to work for me. The ball turns early and loses all power. The only resonwhy i gave it a 5 is that it did help me win some tournaments when the backends were too dry for me to throw my savage and matrix 2. Plus the care you have to give this ball is rediculous. After ever session I would clean it and got it resurfaced after 40 games, it still didn't want to work. I just think my style is not for this ball, but who knows, it could be for someone else.

Sanded this ball to 220 grit then took it back up a little and put one coat of polish on it... this caused the ball to roll smooth, but when the polish comes off it hooks a crapload at the front of the lane.... if you take care of the ball it will work sweetly... i have shot a lot of scores with that ball and it will most likely be the only ball from last year that i will keep in my bag... overall this ball is a 9 because it hits like a ton of bricks and carries the pins well... would be a 10 if the surface was better....maybe that's what the ricochet was for

For a person. like myself, who strokes the ball with a high track, the ball skids way too far down the lane with no recovery on long, heavy oil (tournament shot), but on short, heavy oil, or medium oil, the ball is not a bad purchase and of course, will hit like a ton of bricks. Many times leaving the 9 pin due to the hard drive through the pocket If you want the ball to hook on long heavy oil, you need to be a cranker. For a person who cranks the ball, a lot of finger weight would be the way to go.

this ball is a very good ball, that is the most time in my bag, because i did not have the oil it needs. i play in germany and there is not the amount of oil for this ball. it could also be played on medium to medium heavy with a ball speed of 20 mile per hour, but that is not a way of bowling. i like to play it on oil because it has grat hitting power and an nice even arc and rolls ao very early. if you dont rev it up, it also finds the pocket but looses hitting power

My ball is drilled RH 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" with the pin to the right and down 1/4" from my ring finger, I have med speed w/ med revs throwing on wood lanes with fresh house shot and shot 202,205,200 for my first 600 series since pulling a back muscle in '91. Most of the reviews that I have read on this ball are negative. This one is not. I got my ball in November, drilled it last saturday, threw it in league on thursday,(but the lanes were desert dry so it hooked unmercifully) so I used it last night. This ball did exactly what I bought it for; goes down past the arrows, turns like a tank, and crushes the pocket. Probably will buy another for when this one is worn out.

this ball was a pretty good addition to my arsenal , it will roll by what surface i put on it , if i sand it it will roll a little earlier if i compound it up it will clear the heads and it might finish , if i rev up on it enough but the ball rolls very consistant anywhere i throw it and i can predict what it will do but when theres some oil out there i can move and swing it without thinking about it coming back(when sanded)i really like this ball on hard conditions and thats usally when i throw it

I started out with an emb which didn't work very well. I then got this ball and loved it. Threw it at the same mark and it crashed like no other. The curve was perfect in every aspect. More games will give it dieing causes. Better get stocked up on alot of towels and tons. . . . . . . . . literally tons of cleaners. Better get some boxing gloves or something too. For the frustration you get from it skidding and wondering what your doing wrong. I finally figured out that it was just the ball and even with me rolling a two finger just to see how it reacts will almost slid right into the gutter.

Drilled the Roll 4x2 with a weight hole for a long medium-heavy shot on older wood lanes. I wanted a big arc without a jump on th back, and for the most part the Roll does that. It will hop on the backends a bit more than I expected, but it is very controllable. I scuffed the surface to 600 and had the exact motion I needed in this particular house. My Roll more than paid for itself the first night in league(I love it when ball does that!!), and has been a good bracket winner so far. My only complaint with the ball is the coverstock lifespan. I can tell a drastic difference from the ball new and now (may have put 35 games on it). I have to keep the surface fresh to keep it from floating on me, but I can tell that the cover is on its way out. Oh well, thats the norm now and not the exception.

I bought this ball from someone that said it just hooks too much. I thought they just didn't know what they were doing. Boy was I wrong. I throw med ball speed and high revs, and this ball is just way too much for me. I have to play standing 15 boards left of normal, and my target is 10 boards left as well, swinging it accross the lane and hoping it still doesn't come back brooklin. I know it would be the perfect ball for tournaments or super heavy oil, so I hang on to it, but I still haven't found enough oil for it yet. When I can get it in the pocket, it is a very powerful ball, cleans the deck evry time.

Well I've been bowling with this ball for about 4 months now and I like it. Gives a good heavy midlane roll and makes its move toward the pins and hits hard. When you let it out alittle to far ball recovers well and when it hits high its not that bad since it haves a even arc and not the snap. When you stay in the oil and come up light its recovers well and hits ok. I have my drilled 1 Inch stacked leaverage with a weight hole on my PAL. I have notice that after about 10 games the ball tracks easily and you have to hit it with some 600 grit to smooth it out. Ball soaks up an awful lot of oil so don't be afraid to give it the hot water treatment. Other than that its a good ball.

Well....it was nice when i first got it. Barely hooks in oil, it does all of its hooking in the first 30 ft. NO backend on this ball AT ALL! If theres too little oil, the ball will roll off the lane before it gets half way to the pins. I still dont understand how they can call this ball Reaction Roll, should be No Reaction Sometimes Roll, it rolls way too eary in light oil, not enough roll in med oil, and no roll in Heavy oil. This ball flat out SUCKS, and as for it not hooking, i dunno, ive never found a ball that i couldnt get to react beautiful. I cranked he hell out of this ball and got nothing.

Drilled mine B2 which is Pin stacked on top of CG basically 3 3/8 x 3 3/8. 5/8 side 1/4 finger and this ball just hits like a truck. Great ball for tournament play just in case you run into those wet dry conditions. I was a storm ball user and now im prolly looking to messing around with alittle more columbia like the Ricochet and th RIP. This ball give the true meaning of hook when other balls dont. Thank you columbia for making this ball and hoping to seeing alot more great balls in the future.

love em' have drilled 3 and all match up and complement each other , would recommend to any body especially those wityh the ability to dominate the head's and breakpoints. good ball for the dough, tough to compare but has alot of the rock characteristics but with attitude. Its ability to float the heads should help slower speeds and 90 degree player's. strokers will love the read out of the oil as well as crankers couldn't get it stop arcing on the right condition but like all particles it has it's conditions. best particle by columbia yet

The ball is set up in a 5 by 5 1/2 drill pattern, with the pin above the ring finger and CG in the palm. According to the drill sheet, "Best length, smooth arc." The ball is great on almost any pattern. It cuts through oil to make a powerfull roll, and recovers from deep lines as well (but corner pins become a problem). The only weak spot for the Roll would probably be dry heads. The agressive cover just grabs too much when head oil is an issue. But, even when the lanes are on the wet side, I can still move left into my comfort zone and push the ball out. Very few conditions that I've seen have kept it from coming back. A great ball to have in the arsenal. Loses a pin in rating, however, because early friction is not always a good thing. Still, great for what it was designed for. A+ Columbia!

OK, I must startout by saying that I am really not a complete fan of this ball. It seems that I have not had the same amount of luck with the roll as everyone else is raving about. Will this ball hook a ton - yes. In my hands the ball did not particularly rev up very well, and hit was ok. In the few games I threw with this ball I left a lot of corner pins (possibly my fault, because I have not been throwing the ball that well of late). If you need a ball that will hook on anything this may be the ball for you. The only warning I have is not to buy this as an everyday ball. It needs oil. In my belief I am a much bigger fan of the black Rock that came out last year. A good ball that really didn't fit my game. 6 out of 10.

Just one word: WOW!!!. I never thought Columbia could create a ball that could hook this much. The ball comes in dull with a similar finish to the Rock On but is much more difficult to polish. I gave the ball a 4 3/4 by 4 1/2 layout. The first time I threw it I just put on a light amount of polish yet this ball still hooked about 15 to 20 boards more than my Rock On. Though it hooks this much it still cleared the head well. Then I called Columbia to tell them what I thought. They suggested polishing it with their Tec Shine. Put some Tec Shine on it and the ball did shine up easier. When throwing it this way the ball got to the break point even easier but still had an amazing amount of hook. The ball flares 8" plus and sucks up oil fast. FOR THOSE BOWLERS LOOKING FOR RAW POWER THIS IS THE BALL FOR YOU! Chris(BuddiesProShop.com) <scrip

This ball is one of the most aggressive balls on the market to date, and yes it will outhook the Rock On. The first night Chris drill this ball and went out to throw it, my jaw hit the ground. He was lofting the left gutter and could get it out to around 5 board at 45 feet and get it back without a problem. We both said wow. After that, we both agree that the ball needed to be polished, so back to the spinner and we put some polish on the Roll, and cut about 10 boards hook out of the ball by polishing it. This ball needs oil. If this ball would have been around for Men's Nationals, I am sure that this would have been in most people bags for that shot. This ball has now become the benchmark for a heavy oil ball. If you have any questions, please email me at Bill@buddiesproshop.com Thanks Bill
