Apogee

To ancient Greeks, Apogee meant highest point. Today, Apogee means reaching the height of asymmetric performance and the apex of power. Columbia 300 pairs the new hard-hitting Capstone™ core with shiny pearl M80™ reactive coverstock to produce corner-turning backends, devastating power and peak pin carry. This absolute choice also features the strongest asymmetric core in Columbia 300 history and introduces a new out-of-this-world color - Celestial Bronze.

Well the ball i have is a Blem but that doesn't mean any thing as far as performance. I got this ball from Allstar Bowling in Ohio. Definitely worth the money. I got it drilled pin over the ring finger and the Thumb is about 2 inches left of the MB. Like i said this ball has nice length and just wants to Flip OUT. I have played a couple different lines with this ball and it really does like to Flip. Amazing. I should buy Blems more often even though theres really nothing wrong with them performance wise usually. Also when this ball hits it hits with Power. I would have never thought it would hit with such power for a mid line ball.<s

Bought Equation and Apogee to replace my medium oil partners, Artillery and Revmaster. Heard this one's a bit squirty but desided still to try out MB position strongest flare possible 4 X 3 1/2 (Pinpos. B and MB pos 2) Ok, lets start by declaring that with OOBF, there's no way I'll be able to play Heavy oil or even medium-heavy with this ball. With this surface and layout the ball didn't move a board on oil. However, when it hits the dry, it makes a 90 dagree turn in what seems to be a 3 boards long jump to the side. It works however if you plan to use it on a fresh shot playing straight down over 1st arrow. I could try sanding the surface but I think it still would be a hockeystick reaction, only a bit sooner.. I stopped using assymetrical cores long ago, simply because their motors are so hard to start going but this one is just a chipped Heat2 Core and not that complicated. so I tried 4X2 layout instead (Pinpos B and MB pos. 1). Now the ball works on anything from medium to

I just bought 2 Apogees. I don't know much about ball drillings, and I am left handed. 1st Apogees was drilled up with pin above ring finger, mb to the right of thumb hole. Ball in box was 3in pin out 3oz of top wieght. This ball goes long with a semi smooth back end Reaction. with very good carry. even with off hits. Ball drives through pins no defection. 2nd ball drilled up with pin over both fingers mb to left of thumb hole. Also small wieght hole. Ball in box was 3-4in pin out top wieght 4oz This ball goes real long with very hard turn into pocket. Pin carry AWSOME!!!!! On off hits carry is AWSOME!!!!!!!! Best hitting ball I ever had. No deflection. Hits harder then 1st Apogee. Both balls get through the heads real clean. For me pocket gets bigger longer I bowl. Don't have to move much all night.

I laid my Apogee out the same as I had a Vapor Zone laid out that I wanted to replace: pin 4 1/2" from my PAP and 4 1/2" above the midline of my grip, and MB placed in a 25 degree position, it ends up being 2 1/2" from my PAP. Out of the box, the ball motion was similar to my Vapor Zone, but a little too squirty. I hit the Apogee with 2000 then 4000 Abralon pads and that made a world of difference. Right now this is the best ball in my bag. The Apogee is clean and picks up great in the midlane, with no quit on the backend. For anybody looking to replace their favorite ball that is dying out, give the Apogee a strong consideration. The old saying goes: The sun does shine on a dog's butt, every once in awhile. This ball gave me back to back 300's. Strung 24 strikes and on the 25th, left a solid 9 pin. I guess I can actually say that I'm a little biased on this ball..hmmm Has a smooth and continuous move on the backend without the snap commonly known for Columbia bowling balls. This ball will be great for people who has a strong release on difficult conditions. This ball helped me reached the highest point (achievement) so far in my life, maybe it can help you.<scrip

The Apogee is the 5th Columbia ball in my arsenal. This ball in my image will move like AMF Titan or Lane# 1 series due to core shape prior drilled. But actually, the movement & hitting power already beyond Titan or Lane#1.(I have one Uranium on hand) The Apogee is designed to those players looking for wider range of strike zone with more spare rooms. It really allows mis-shot but still keep good & nice pin carry. You may feel this is one awesome ball in Columbia history ever!! Good job,Columbia team! Keep on working out nice balls & cores.
