I will always have to be loyal to Columbia's addition of the Alter Ego to their FlipSide line. This ball is a great ball on fresh medium oil, and gave me my first 300 as a youth bowler. By running a scotchbrite over the coverstock, I was able to create an earlier roll and as a reasult a harder hit at the pocket. However, there is a limit. Has a tendency to roll out if you try to swing it. Possibly bowler error, but has done this for a number of bowlers that I have seen throw the ball. On medium oil, if you stay right of 15 and left of 5, you are pretty much guaranteed to find a line to the pocket with this ball. ONE THING TO REMEMBER: If there's a flood, put this ball on the Ark with Noah. Heavy oil will defeat even the UFO Coverstock, and you can expect to see the 10 and 8-10.<sc

One of Columbia's best balls to date. I used to throw Boss TI Pearl and Rock, along with Most all Storm balls. This ball hits as well as any ball I've thrown in the past ten years. It is drilled to go long and arc on the back end. Specs: 15# 15oz. 2.5oz top pin 1 drilled pin under ring cg under ring kicked out bomb at 5 o'clock. polished with grips and thumb slug. I am getting ready for state and city tournaments coming up should be a real asset to the Storm balls , Eraser Boost PBT, Too Hot, And the Hot Rod Super Stock Pearl.

This is the first asymmetrical ball that I really like. Why this ball wasn't as big a seller, I will never know. I will be buying two more before they are all gone. So much power at the break point with the continous roll through the pin deck. First 3 games (244,244,244... with the last 2 games in a tournament). You will definitly need head oil. Polishing will help on the medium patterns, but by then you should be using something less aggressive than this ball. You should not be disappointed in its performance. Mid priced with a lot of potential. A real sleeper from Columbia300..

Finally a ball that can handle the oil at my house. Been looking for a while for a ball with a decent price that can actually hook on the lanes My average has gone up 12 pins since I ought this ball, nice to have a ball I do not have to crank in order to get it to hook. i would highly recommend this ball to those who play in meadium to heavy oil. It does not lose poer in the back like some that I have had, hits the pocket like a ton of bricks. I have left hardly any 10 pins since I got this ball, which is great because I seriously dislike the 10 pin.

My friend told me about this ball and like i said i have shot my high games and series' from using this ball. I never was able to carry the ten pin until i bought this ball, i either use this ball or the full throttle both which work well with my alley's lane condtitions which are changed every week to "prepare" us kids for tournaments, i used this in a tournament 2 weeks ago nd finished first in singles doubles team and both handicap and scratch all events for my division, this ball has just helped out my success in tournaments

I love this ball. Ball knows it way to the pocket and is very controllable. Can shoot both the inside and out side lines and cover. Hits harder than any ball i have ever had before when it hits the pocket. Goes long and when the ball flips it flips with massive amounts of power. Pin action is awesome. Another great ball by Columbia 300. Keep up the good work. This ball will really help me on the oily conditions of synthetic lanes which i usually struggle. I have never had a ball get throught the oil like the Alter Ego does.

I have always loved the flip-side line from Columbia, so I got this ball for that purpose only. The layout is a 3" pin below the ring finger and out a little with the cg at about a 45 degree angle from that. I tried it on light oil, and the thing looses engergy so quick, it hits likes a marshmallow. Getting it on heavier oil helped, but the ball still seemed squirrely. You do have to play in with this ball, but without a lot of backend, you have to stay tight. Now, I have seen this ball polished and used on drier lane conditions and I have to say, it rolls VERY nice, with great backend. Slower ball speed will be good for this ball or higher rev player can still get it to come back if it rolls out too far.

This ball hooks a lot more than it was advertised as. However, as long as there is oil on the lane, and you can adjust appropriately then you should be fine for the most part. It's not meant for dry lanes so don't bother trying it. It hits extremely hard and carries the pins surprisingly well. If you compare it to the quality as well as the prices of some of the higher end balls, then this ball is most definately a steal. In my opinion, it hits harder than most, carries better than most, and it won't cost you an arm and a leg to get one in your bag.

THE GOOD to be honest when i first got this ball i had trouble with it, sure i averaged higher and got some good scores with it but it just wasnt for me, but now iv had lessons from my dad and on the second day with my new stile i bowled a 236, my highest game ever at the time (now its 242), and now i average in the 170's. THE BAD -the ball is very linear when it comes to your style of bowling when your style isnt normal the ball will spin like crazy and move SRTAIT down the lane. if your looking for backend look else where, this ball hooks only about 1/3 in the dry so youl see a very controllible hook, i strongly recomend that you check out MIOKPAbowler's review of the goliath, he realy understands the definition of "hook"

I love this ball, can be used on any shot with just about any amount of oil. Ball rolls so smooth it makes an awesome transition to the backend which will just stike all the time. Only had the ball for about 3 months and already shot two 279s and a 700 seires with it. Overall it is just an awesome ball, hits hard graet roll leaves few corner pins and canbe used on heavy amounts of oil. Columbia 300 did a great job with this aysmmetrical ball, it rocks. This is my new favorite ball. Columbia 300 did an awesome job .

No complaints I was very pleased with the balls performance, Being only 16 and carrying that good of games for only my second year of bowling is pretty good. So this ball is excellent and you cannot beat the price for the quality of the ball!!!!!!!! This Ball ROCKS!!! I bowled with it last night for the first league night, and I bowled 194 my first game and a 222 my second game. My third game the lanes dried up and i couldnt adjust but overall this ball ROCKS!NO COMPLAINTS it even carried the ten pen. Another great Colombia ball.

Now all you need to do is adjust ball speed and hit your mark. You gotta give this ball a little room and trust it will flip. My stand was 15 boards on the approach to the left of center and My lane shot was @ the foul line 17th board swing to 13th board. Out of 11 games ,I left 4 solid tens, 3 split combinations w/10s, and 3 solid pocket 7 pins, and 3 solid pocket 9 pins. the rest were mostly pocket explosion/ bomb stikes and I only had 3 brooklyns strikes. The brooklyns were because I pulled the ball and the splits were because I tried to crank the ball. The solid 9 pins were when I slowed the ball speed and let the ball run further outside and it came back really hard almost behind the headpins driving hard through the 3 pin leaving the solid 9 pin. The solid 7 pins , I believe, were just to much pin action, bad luck ! See my previous ball review for my drilling speck's.My games were 1st day qualifying 177,224,209,231,197 2nd DAY double elimination (W=win L=loss)207W,223W,185L,215W,

Ball is EXCELLENT for Oily lanes. If your looking for a ball to finish on the end, here you go! Doesn't pick up OIL as most balls do! I had this ball drilled with these specs; Preferred Lane Condition "HEAVY OIL", Pin Position "B", C/G position 1, Dist. Pin X C.G. to PAP 3 1/8 X 5, Front End Reaction; Medium Length, Back End reaction; Smooth Curve, Flare 7, Pin out 3" . I look for the price of this ball and my average of 192 to go up! I can't wait for synthetic lanes to test this ball on. Look forward to shooting my next 300 game with this ball!

I bought this ball in my neverending quest for a ball that i can get decent motion out of in heavier patterns. I had it drilled for upmost earliest roll with a littl positive side weight for extra power. The ball moves great in heavy oil and is still usable in medium conditions. Avoid dry lanes. The only dislike was the lack of carry. have not been used to so many taps with my hammer equiptment. But this ball out moves any hammer i have owned. So great ball for the price if you are looking to add more hook to your game. Carries alot better on medium oil thou.

Maybe C300 is learning from Track. They need to get into assymetrical cores. When you release a ball in the midprice range that is far and away outperforming any of your top of the line equipment, there is a problem. This ball reads the lane immediately. If there is any chance that the heads are gone or starting to go, put this ball away! There are some other bargains out there (ball for the price), but this ball has to top it! Strong ball, assymetrical core, and aweseom performance. C300 is finally waking up. It is probably too late for them to pull closer to the pack now though. Put out a pear reactive of this ball and watch it sell like hotcakes!

I have used this ball twice with pretty good results on 2 totally different shots. My first time out on some oil I shot 631 and left only 1 seven pin. I had some bad shots just due to my poor execution early in the night. The second time out on a little dryer conditions I shot 762 and left 3 seven pins. So as of now I would say the ball is carrying very well. I would recommend this ball to all looks great and the results you will get should be good. You know you have something when you are done bowling and a number of people from your league ask you what kind of ball you throwing and they need to get one.
