Brunswick Power Groove Teal/Orange Pearl Bowling Ball

Plastic slips. The Groove grips. And grip is exactly what you need to improve your game. When you’re ready to step up from plastic, get in the Groove. Ready to start hooking the ball? Move up from Plastic to Reactive coverstock technology. Compared to Plastic, Reactive coverstock technology increases traction and hooking action in the oil, and Reactive coverstocks can be sanded or shined to create large differences in hook potential. Reactive coverstocks also respond more aggressively to dry lane surfaces than Urethane coverstocks, increasing backend hooking action and hitting power. Coverstock: These three Power Groove Reactive balls feature a factory polished version Brunswick’s popular PowrKoil 17 Reactive coverstock. Factory polishing helpes create a more skid/snap reaction that saves most of its hooking action for the back part of the lane. First used on the Sapphire Zone, PowrKoil 17 is the strongest Reactive coverstock ever used on a Groove class ball. Core: The Power G

I can play anywhere on the lane. It hits hard, but too hard it can leave 10 pins. This was the most reactive ball in my arsenal until I got a Brunswick punisher and later a Faball-Hammer 3-D High Rev Offset. I started with Ebonite Magnum, I avged 88, then I got a Razzle and avged 128. Then when I got this ball my avg was increased to 150. Then when it was combined with the Punisher and Hammer I avg 180. Seven 200 games in 3 months. Not Bad for a guy who started bowling 1 year ago. Went to a youth tournament, Tough Shot Tour East Coast. This ball isn't the best out there but it was the hardest hitting ball I had accept for the Hammer. I use it for a spare ball, it would hook about five boards. I avged 130 for the tournament alot lower than my norm. But, the lanes were oiled to a PBA style. I finished 6th. First major tournament. The other Saturday, I shot 147, 108, 180. When I shot the 108 I was mad, I made a ball change to the Power Groove instead of the Hammer, shot 180. Every

Bought it on Ebay. I drilled it with cg on center line, pin above ring finger. I thought that it would be a good ball for dryer, breakdown shot. For me it is not. It has become my benchmark/first out of bag ball. It moves in oil. It moves quick in the dry. There are better balls for the desert shot. But, this ball is a great ball. I played it at nationals and it was good in the longer heavier Team shot. Much more ball than you'd think. This ball is just a touch weaker than the old Zones. All of the control of the old Saphire Zone. Rolls well, bit snappy and early on dry. But great carry and consistancy. This one will stay in my arsonal for as long as it lasts. If you missed the pearl Saphire Zone, you might want to buy this one.

I heartily endorse this bowling ball and recommend it to all bowlers from beginner to advanced skill levels. It can really move on medium to dry lanes and will perform just as well on oily conditions. This ball reacts much like the PBA branded Inferno and the red/black Monster. Versatility is the key word because when I bowl on oily lanes, reaction is smooth from release to impact with the pins. On dry conditions, the reaction is more evident and deflection is minimal even if it hooks a bit early, but the key word is to adjust your spot to accommodate it. I believe I have quite an arsenal with the Reactive Power Groove and the Proactive Black Sparkle Groove. Two Brunswick performance bowling balls for just under $140! What a bargain!
