Brunswick Power Groove Dry/R Bowling Ball Green Pearl Chrome

(9 reviews) Write a Review

The Power Groove line has been a tremendous success for Brunswick. Designed primarily for bowlers buying their first performance ball, the Power Groove line delivers a tremendous amount of hook potential for the money. The Power Groove Dry/R Green/Chrome is designed for a different type of bowler and lane condition. Less traction in the oil, a smoother reaction off the dry and a lower hook potential than the shiny Power Groove reactive balls, the Power Groove DryR delivers a better match-up on dry lane conditions. High RPM players will find the Power Groove Dry/R to be the tamest of Brunswick’s reactive coverstock balls, making it an excellent ball to go to on dry lane conditions. Low speed players who struggle to get the ball down the lane will find the Power Groove Dry/R creates more length, saving its hooking action for the back-end where it belongs. Coverstock: The Green/Chrome Pearl features PowerBoost Dry, a tamer version of the PowerBoost reactive coverstock found

If you are bolwing on a bone dry shot and you need a ball to finish just a little harder than your plastic ball this is the perfect ball...( I had to adjust the box surface b/c it was hookin a lot more than I wanted it to, I surfaced it to a 1000 grit surface then hit it with some extender polish, and that gave it the lenght that I was looking for) If you dont rev the ball failry this is not the ball for you stick with the higher end balls is my recomendations! I average 210 and have been bolwing for about 8 years...

this ball is great always consistent provided that u throw it the same or at least close. the typical lines for this ball would be a drifter shot to the 15 board and back in or an outside shot playing from the 5 to 8 board great hook on the backend when lanes are dry bowled one of my high games with it... i don't no what people are saying when it hits weak you gotta know how to throw te ball the same everytime for the ones who say its got inconsistent reaction i can't use it when my medium oily ball doesn't react

Bought this ball for when it is bone dry and the shot is broke down. Never owned a Brunswick before but bought this one from Mr. B's Pro shop in Troy, OH. The ball has a decent backend but it does not carry hits great and this is probably due to the weak core. it really only has weight blocks and not a actual core. This ball carries a flush hit great (duh) but I do not seem to leave a corner pin or a quick back row pin with this ball. There is not a lot of recovery with this ball. If I get it too far outside then it will not make it back to the pocket. FOr the right condition it is a decent ball.

I bought this ball as a replacement for a plastic ball to use for splits, 10 pins and dry conditions. Plastic skids too much I was looking for a weaker reactive cover stock to give me a little more bite so I can keep my revs up like my strike ball delivery and have the ball move enough to cover 10 pins. The ball has a clean roll to it and it is very predictable. No sharp break points, just a smooth roll and a controlled path to your desired target. It also gives me a go to ball for the times you are on a pair that is conditioned poorly.<scri

I wanted a dry ball for real dry lanes or backup ball when nothing works. I foudn this ball thought i give it a try. Its okey not great not bad. Probally does what it says a ball for people who want to developa hook. Should of know it woulnt have the hitting power i wanted but not bad ball. I ended up using it as spare ball though it now sitting in the closet probally givit toomy brother who starting out bowling . Not really impressed just does what it ssays it does. If you want a ball for dry lanes and are not looking for terrrifice hititng power go for it.

i stood all the way on the last 2 dots and threw the ball over second arrow it hit around the trhee bored and took off at the pins when the lanes driend up i shot a 225,264,279 768 set want to get the ball sanded for a better match up on a little more oil with better control with a nice even roll this ball is perfect for me because it is so tame i put so many revs on the ball i can use a plastic ball playing up 2nd arrow and carry a 200 avg this ball will hopefully work better and make my avg go up

I bought this ball for the late leagues that I throw, and so far after I drilled by the Brunswick layout number 4L with the pin above the ring finger and the CG just out from the palm of my hand the ball works great. I threw my first set with it during Monte Carlo on Saturday and threw an impressive 672 with it right out of the gate. I look forward to trying it on league later this week. I did not give the ball a ten because i have not had the opportunity to throw it on the conditions that I bought the ball for. Will keep you posted. Great ball again from Brunswick. Latest, this ball still hooks like crazy on dry lanes, I dont know whether it is me or what but i have ended up throwing a white dot instead because even with me polishing this ball it still is too much for my late leagues. Great ball though. Latest update- I just redrilled the ball and used a pin axis drilling layout and now the ball works like it should on dry lanes, right down ten and in. the only problem with this

Drilled the ball stupid. Pin under middle finger, CG down and out from there (center of grip about). The idea was to decrease flare, and it didnt work at all, created an inconsistant ball reaction and an unusual reaction shape. One shot will not hook, the next will finnish like a truck, the next will are like a particle. It does cleanly make it through hooking heads most of the time, but will still hook early. The "low flare" layout created almost 3 inches, more than the maximum rated for the ball. Drilled different the ball would probobly be a much more useful tool in the bag, until then it sits at home.

Weak cover and core combination work well together. Carry suffers at times but that is what you should expect from this combination. O O p c O Crankers and high track bowlers who have a hard time keeping a ball on line when facing dry conditions will love this ball. It gets through heads with ease, reads mids well, and makes a controllable turn to the pocket. Dry/R is a great double duty ball for spares as well. Great ball for short (35') sport shot as well. This is the best dry lane ball I have found to date. Better than the Buzzsaw xxl, Storm Too Hot, and the other Power Groove reactive’s.<sc
