Brunswick BVP Nemesis Bowling Ball

(17 reviews) Write a Review

The universe of core/coverstock choices for bowling balls has greatly expanded in the last 12 years with the development of reactive and particle coverstocks and core system technology that can create a vast array of performance characteristics. Using these choices, Brunswick's engineers have been able to create optimum reation match-ups for a wider range of bowlers and lane conditions that ever before. While some core/coverstock combinations are more specialized in nature, others have an awesome versatility that has met with mainstream approval and acceptance. The BVP Nemesis targets just this type of ball reaction by employing core, coverstock and surface finish choices designed to help most bowlers match-up on typical house conditions. Medium RG: With a RG min of 2.536 the Nemesis inverted bell core system is squarely in the mainstream range of balls like the Danger Zone and Teal Rhino Pro. More length and an Ultra Low RG ball. More able to create mid-lane

I very much like the reaction this ball gives on our house shot. I can play it hard up 5, or I can swing from 20-7 and expect this ball to get back. It gets through the fronts clean (unless there is not head oil) and starts its arch around 35 feet and just doesn't quit. The only thing I don't like is that I cannot use it in most tournament bowling, due to the outsides being flooded (too much skid) and the middle being dry (checks up too early). But for house bowling it is a great ball.

I bought this ball figuring it would be good for the house shot that i bowled on and i was right. This ball is great for the medium oil shots. it gets down the lane with no problem, and still has enough energy to get back and carry the pocket. It is a great and cheaper alternate for the Ultimate Inferno. Ball is very similar to it except for the Ultimate is better for the more oily conditions. The first day i used this ball i shot a 300. Two days later i had 869, so this ball must be doing something right for me. Its your call..............<s

After one month of league play, this ball hits very hard & destroys everything in its path with consistency where as all my other balls have failed. 2 weeks ago shot a 267 which is my 2nd highest game I've ever bowled. Handles really well on fresh medium-heavy oily lane conditions. Struggles somewhat on heavy carrydown but make the correct adjustment and it should still work for you. I had to stand on 20 and throw on 1st arrow for best results but trying to find a better line for carrydown. Haven't tried it on synthetic lanes yet but hopefully it will be to my advantage. Hands down the BEST BALL I'VE EVER OWNED & the MOST VERSATILE as well. The colors also look cool when it rolls down the lane. It has that menacing, choatic, destructive get out of my way look about it. Can't wait to get the Absolute Inferno to give me an excellent one-two punch for summer. Will post another review in June.

I'm a 145 average, and right out of the box ( 16 lb. 800 grit) with my first series I bowled 70 pins over average. Great hook potential that I can see so far...It breaks pretty far down the lane. Hooks well on medium oil and hits the pins hard. The hook through the front end of the lane is smooth, and the backend is very controllable. The Nemesis ahs allot more pin action than I thought. I have a friend with a 172 avg who bowled an 800 series twice with his Nemesis... He uses an absolute Inferno also. When I was looking at new balls, he said I would have no complaints with the Nemesis, and so far I don't ... Lane conditions vary where I play so I'll let you know how it does on a dry oil night....Stay Tuned.

This ball is great for any bowler who needs more hook on fairly heavy oil conditions. I almost bought an Absolute Inferno until I was convinced by my pro shop dealer (really nice guy who gave me a great deal) to get the Nemesis. I have only used this ball twice, once on dry (not recommended), next on oil (strongly recommended). Shot highest 3-game series ever 232, 221, 221 for 674 on a slight heavy oil pattern with clean back-ends. A 210+ AVG bowler I was going up against said WHOA several different times after I kept striking. Currently carrying a 185 AVG and had been struggling up until last night. I didn't even have to make one adjustment which is rare for me these days. Probably due to NEW BALL SYNDROME with some luck. Ball is very versatile and allows some room for error which is always an advantage. I also carry a Raging Inferno, Triple Xtreme X-Factor by Storm and a Triton TKO by Track: my Nemesis puts all of them to shame. My Storm ball is its closet competition. HIGH

This ball is the best mid price ball on the market. I have been a storm guy till I bought this ball. Will out hook any other ball I have. Needs oil or it will start over reacting. Other then that this ball hits hard and drives . Has nice even arc to the pocket. I am a right hander and have only left a couple 10 pins. This ball has already paid for itself. I have only had it 3 weeks and have bowled my highest game and series. I never thought I would have ever bought a Brunswick bowling ball I am sure glad I did. Great ball for typical house shoot.

Before I drilled up a nemesis, I have never thrown the powerkoil 18 cover. Man I was missing out. I drilled mine with the pin above my ring finger and the cg about one inch from the center of my grip and the roll is just amazing. Despite its "weaker" core, this ball has some pop. I match up very well on a typical house shot with this ball. My rev rate is not very high (300), but this ball sends the pins across the decks for me. This ball does need some head oil, or else it will roll too strong for most. Overall definetly a great deal for the price JEFF MERSCH -UCF Bowling-

The Nemesis was supposed to be the Monster SmashR replacement. The folks at Brunswick went one step farther in making this ball. The SmashR was a Solid/Pearl mix of PowrKoil 18 (or a some other companies have tried to market, Hybrid). The Nemesis, being a 2 color solid, is so much better when the lane starts to transition. This ball will bite through carrydown better than the Monster SmashR and is a bit more angular than the SmashR. The only downfall is, this ball may be taking sales away from the Ultimate Inferno. I good problem to have for Brunswick.

my first 3 games was 512 pins, new ball , dry lanes, the next 3 games 589. One day later on fresh medium -oily lanes I have shoot 892 for 4 games 198-246-235-213 , I'm only a 175 averge-bowler , this ball must be good . The Nemesis goes clean trough the heads and down the pines and then he went to the pocket , hitting the pins harder as many other ball's . I have bowled over 60 games with this ball, it goes down the lane like the ball was new . Very good ball from Brunswick, I'll will buy next the Classic Zone from my new favorite ball-customer.

I bought this ball a week before Christmas, from a local pro shop in Dayton, Ohio. I was looking for a mid-priced reactive resin ball. The owner of the pro shop suggested the Nemesis. I did some research on the ball, I was sold on it. I am a right hander, average between 195-200. Ball speed between 14-16 mph. Medium revs and medium axis rotation. Had the ball drilled pin out 2-3. Top weight around 2 oz. Pin just below ring finger. This ball likes oil, I usually play between the 7th to tenth boards. I can adjust when the lane conditions dictate with this ball. The Nemesis does not like extreme dry lanes. It was not designed for dry boards. Put it away when this happens. I wanted a good mid-priced resin ball I found it in the Brunswick Nemesis.

i got this ball layed out as a full leverage drilling, just like my old icon... and its been a very aggressive ball. this ball can really give you some great hit and ping action. ive only shot a few games on it, but 3 different types of lanes conditions and i have to say its just for heavier oil. it rolls up to early on dry of course. but with some polish it should get down the lane nice. though i have left some 7 pins(lefty) but thats just because i didnt have a good angle to the pocket... other wise this is a great ball for your typical medium to heavy oil shot

Well, I thought 300 was inevitable... I have enough 299's to choke a camel... but 800 was always a bit out of reach... 1st game used a Visionary G-3, shot 279.... then I did the unthinkable.. because the Nemesis comes up a bit stronger, I decided to change balls.... 249, 300... 828... first 800... first sanctioned 300.... The Nemesis is the most forgiving ball I have thrown in a long long time.. Phenomenal ball. unbeatable price... Brunswick has outdone themselves... Next buy... The Punisher.... What the heck... give me the whole line... its not like they're gonna break the ole pockets..

This ball is versatile, a high roller and is good on freshly oiled and moderately broken down house conditions. Plenty of traction on all but the oiliest lanes combined with a strong backend reaction. This ball goes clean through the heads then hooks at a strong continuous motion when it reaches to it's breakpoint. The first game I got was a 237, the second game I got was a 219, and the third game I got was a 234 a total of a 690 set. It's always something when you miss your 700 series but next time is a great oppurtunity. I threw a gutter shot I spared it and I missed 2 key 10 pin shots one I almost made. Don't get me wrong but I made 1 10 pin but I need more practice on my 10 pins. I am a high RPM player and have medium-high speed also I had my nemesis at 15 lbs and drilled at 2E Medium Oil on the Brunswick drilling chart (Refer toward my last posting for drilling advice). The drilling was perfect and a successful accomplishment. I need to give my proshop guy a tip he did a good job

I striked a lot from this ball on 9-15-04. I sucked at this ball at first by a 166 and 158 because of the way my bowling form is at times. Right now my average should be around 190 because my release is getting more consistent as well as my ball speed. My pro-shop guy calmed me down on my follow through and my arm-swing and my back-swing. After I fixed my problems with my follow through it struck time after time after time. You definitely have to throw it correctly and at the right spot to bowl consistent with this ball. This is a very strong ball made by Brunswick they did a good job for the RG they put on this ball. This ball goes clean through the heads and it starts to develop into a stronger continuous backend motion. This ball is consistent also when the lanes breakdown moderately as well. This is my second owned ball from Brunswick. Good Job Brunswick you're my #1 customer.

Great ball! Drilled this one up at the Mini-Eliminator in Vegas last week. Drilled it with the pin above the fingers and the CG kicked out just a little....no weight hole. I'm a cranker and I could use this ball to open up the lane a little more. Tried throwing up the gutter (5 and out) and it was a little to much ball for that shot. Played around the 20 swinging out the 5. Ball hits very hard. This ball is a very good replacement for the Smash/R. It probaly has a little stronger backend reaction and a little more snap in the back. If you like the Smash/R.....you'll love this ball. Aloha and good bowling!!
