I'm a hobby bowler with 140 average. Got this ball second hand for late/dry conditions expecting minimal hook. Ball was only plugged/drilled once, pin under ring finger, and a flare increasing hole about half an inch diameter. I was fortunate the span fit me perfectly when I first got it and was amazed at how much hook I got with whatever surface it originally had (polished, probably factory) on a 41' THS, considering this is now a 20 year old ball. I had the hole plugged and resurfaced on a spinner with 1000 grit abralon, switched to my preferred finger inserts and finally polished it with Black Magic's XXX rated by hand. I typically bowl in the evening when the oil is broken down so I'm almost always forced to play deep, stand around board 30, aim middle arrow and adjust from there. My first game after adjusting the ball allowed me to play straight up from 5 and carried a few Brooklyns for a 221

I have to agree with the other post about this ball. I found mine in a pro shop collecting dust. Ball was undrilled in original box 16lbs. Even though I throw mainly 15lbs, I had to have it. I remembered seeing a guy in a league years back tearing it up with one of these. It was weighed as a heavy 15lb even though box said 16lbs. Gave it a try and haven't looked back since. Easy to use ball with a nice smooth arc and it really smokes the pins. As other reviewer said, it is as effective as many newer releases today. I plan to have this in my bag for some time to come. The powercoil coverstock's and old zone cores are not easy to find anymore. But they still rock on many of todays conditions.

Got this ball NIB for $50 off ebay. #15 pin 1.5. Drilled 12:00 pin under bridge with small weight hole for more backend. Used on your typical late shift house shot. Depending on release I could play the entire lane and which shot would carry better. Very predictable at the break point . This is a ball that is surprising to many of watchers because its outdated. But it sure hits like Brunswick just released it in 2004. Feeling a bit nostagic as I cream the opposition with their expensive equipment. Just use this ball on the right condition and you can't go wrong. Still laughing at my skyblue orb. Don't! Just watch the pins fly.
