I bought this ball in 15 lbs first in 1996 and for a long time it was my only ball for the first shot. I loved this ball because of its easy handling and it left only very few corner pins if you hit the pocket. Most problems I had with the finger holes, which broke out. I had the chance to buy a second (used) one and it remained my favourite ball until I changed weight to 14 lbs. I found a third one, now 14 lbs, but today my favourites are Ebonite Savage and Storm Trauma Response. Only sometimes, when the lane has dried up, I use this good old ball, playing second to third arrow with still goods success.

Brunswick's follow-up ball to the DZ2 which was designed to handle dry lanes better than the DZ2. It was successful but couldn't replace the DZ2. The Black Ice went long, made a strong flip and crushed the pocket. Not designed for Heavy Oil and belonged in the bag under these conditions. Didn't replace the DZ2 even under the most dry conditions as the DZ2 could go coast to coast and never lose power at the pins. Owning a DZ2 made this ball unneccessary - but without a DZ2 in your bag, the Black Ice was a good choice on light to dry lane conditions.

Thats right my first zone ball from Brunwswick and for brunswick it s my third ball than i buy . This ball is black and grey and it's reactive pearl. According about the lane contition this ball go to medium oil and he hit very hard for a low ball. That the kind of the type of the ball than i like to play on the lane. But i saw someting different about this ball the way was percing the finger this ball is did't not hook like a backend, but he hook all the long of the just like a ball particule but This ball is Just a reactif pearl. If you have a chance!! Buy this ball.

This ball is a pretty good ball. Just be carefull to not miss your spot because this ball won't recover most of the time. I play up 2nd arrow when the lanes dry out and it goes right in the pocket!!!! This ball makes a cool loud noise when it hits pocket. After a while though, the ball will ware out, so you have to take care of this ball and maintain its condition by cleaning it every once in a while. When the lanes are oiled up, this also makes a good spare ball. I wouldn't really recommend this ball though unless you bowl on light - dry lane conditions.

Got this from an ex-girlfriends dad, and I will love him for it for the rest of my life. Terrific midlane roll, and very good hit. When I first received it I had the whole lane and could carry everything. But over the years of using this ball all the time, it has died down and is now a ball I only pull out when I need something I can rely on to keep me out of trouble. It's hard to string em now like I used to, leaves a lot more ten pins than before, but man, if you can find one new you have a winner. One of the best balls I've thrown.<scr

This ball was supposed to compliment the Original Danger Zone, however I don't believe it really did. I believe the Danger Zone was fine on it's own, if you knew how to adjust you could throw it on a wide variety of shots. I don't really see alot of point with the Black Ice, other than it's supposed to be used with the Danger Zone was hooking too much and you wanted more length with snap on the backend, like any other pearl ball. But, if you could adjust the Danger Zone was really all you needed. Don't get me wrong the black ice was a good ball. Just didn't seem to live up to what it was supposed to live up to in my opinion, it's just another lost pearlized ball by brunswick.
