Brunswick Blast Zone Bowling Ball

Core For 2007, Brunswick is bringing back an updated version of the bowling's industry's original asymmetric core. The Phantom core was the first core with a two-pin design and a built in Preferential Spin Axis (PSA). The ABC/USBC used the Phantom core to establish the original RGmin and RGdiff specifications for the system of bowling. By using an updated version of the Phantom core, Brunswick has increased the asymmetric differential of the Zone line from 0.017" to 0.020". Combined with Activator coverstock and a 800-grit wet sand finish, the Blast Zone upgrades the Strike Zone in the Zone Asymmetric line. Drilling Note : Use the included drilling layouts or your current favorite asymmetric layouts for the Blast Zone. The original Phantom layouts are now obsolete and are not recommended. Coverstock The Blast Zone uses a hybrid version of Activator coverstock, combining the Activator Solid form the Ultimate Inferno with the Activator Pearl.

Line Zone Asymmetrical
Color Black/Green/Purple
Coverstock Reactive
Core 2-piece Asymmetrical
RG 2.484
Differential 0.046
Intermediate Diff n/a

Been using this site for quite some time and this literally the s h i t t i e st review have come across. Don't care one way or another about the ball but its like a monkey was banging on the keyboard. Granted posted a decade ago so the OP might be dead but wanted to go out of my way to admit I am fully in awe of this review. Only missing is saying Hitler was misunderstood.

I bought the Blast Zone off a friend and had it drilled to my specs.. Ball rolls well through the mids, and if you hit your mark, crushes the rack. Miss right and the ball skids out on you. Miss left and say hello to a brooklyn or missing the head pin completely. I polished it and have been playing 3rd arrow to inside the 4th arrow. Ball rolls back well and gives a nice reaction on the pins.. ONLY downfall is it likes to give some 9 and 10 pins..Ball will shred the rack but leave that nine standing. When the ball leaves a 10 pin, a messenger is present but either goes right in fornt of the 10, or dies out and rolls on the deck.. Overall, great ball for the price..

i don't throw a very hard hook nor do i have the power of some of my team mates so i purchased this ball in reading the reviews and it's a great part of my arsonal. i do suggest polishing the ball if you want more revs. it comes back hard the more i polish it the more it revs. i actually replaced my fury for this one and what a blast. i hope that this helps tothers just starting. the ball was a great price too. i now started with a 170 average now they have bumped me up to a 209 in some tournaments. it;s like the ball has a remote control.<scri

First ball I ever threw was an 8 - 10 split horrible carry even worse lane reaction easily worst ball I've ever owned. I have never been comfortable with it and it is really inconsistent.. overall bad experience with the ball.. lowered my average 10 pins until I decided to put it back in the bag and nearly in the dumpster. It looks good but thats bout it. I have found the ball to work much better when i throw back up. Nice consistent roll its almost as if it was drilled for a lefty. I bowled about ten games with out of the box surface then i had it roughed out because of its lack of reaction.. The ball never met its expectations and it is back where it belongs in the bag and on the sideline

this ball is great. This is the first ball I take out of my bag, I think I made a mistake getting mine drilled and will get that fixed very soon. the ball wants to turn early and hard, in my experience it has great area. It is a pretty good ball for reading the oil on the lanes. its a great ball to start with if you need to break down some oil for another ball too. I like to use it until i break down enough oil for my ragin banshee or my neptune. it needs a certain amount of oil to keep from giving up before it hits the pins. if youre bowling on light oil it will turn hard and hit weak. dont get it drilled to turn late, it conflicts the coverstock and the core. I did this with mine, and I am going to get it redrilled as soon as possible.

So far I've only put three games on the ball (if that). I really do enjoy the ball for the price. We pinned it down for earlier roll and it does exactly what it's suppose to. Ball skids through the heads easily and when it hits the dry, it takes off. Can't really miss inside though as it will take off on ya. It's the second ball in my four ball arsenal I plan on getting. Great dull ball to have for anyone, watched an older gentleman throw the ball straight up ten, and it still was effective. Update: I bowled my first full series with it today (1/22) and shot 724 (226, 228, 270 (last 9). Good series, but tremondous for the house I was bowling in (dead pins, incosistant reactions). The ball carried when it was suppose to and had a little give. I missed out in the dry once and it went through the nose, and missed inside and went through the nose (but that's suppose to happen right)? The ball is VERY aggressive when it hits the dry and gets down the lane fairly easy. Gre

brunswick really did a great job in designing this ball I just wished they would have stayed in the Usa because We already lost enough jobs as it is but keep up the good work on making some of the best bowling balls money can buy all the ball companies need to produce more mid price balls because everyone cant always afford 175 to 230 dollers for a new ball I know a lot of older people that are on a limited income so that keeps them shy on buying a new ball I know theres a lot of entery level balls but when the lanes demand a stronger cover stock they are lost and confused and they get really discourged like every thing else in the the good old Usa the cost of living is getting out of hand<s

If you are bowling on lanes that are fresh with a nice backed then the ball will rev up mid-lane and flip hard through the pins. This blast zone is drilled pin up and is supposed to go longer but as with all the brunswick line it sets up early. Although with fresh backends and alot of speed this ball is by far the best for a typical house shot. On a tournament shot this has to be sanded in order to work. If you have alot of revolutions i dont recommend this ball but if you have medium to low revs then this ball is great because you can afford to play in the track area without the ball hooking to early with me if i lay this ball to the lane it hooks out of my hand but if i LOFT it a little then i can get it down the lane to make the turn later and carry the ten.

This is a steal for a mid-priced ball. Go to Buddiesproshop.com for the best on-line prices. I did a lot of research on this ball before I bought and you won't find a better ball for the price. Watch video on this ball you will be impressed. As a right hander playing around the 5-10 board the ball was crushing the pocket, leaving only 3 ten pins in 7 games. After the 7 games I only had to move a total of 1 board to the left. This ball hold its line all the way down, by far the most consistant ball I have had in a long time.

I went on the word of a guy that I trust at my local pro shop...he said the ball carried very well and was strong! He wasnt lying. I can play deep inside in oil on an all synthetic lane and this ball just snaps and hits! The colors arent the greatest, but that doesnt matter when the pins fly around the way they do. I havent had much luck with short pins (1-2") unfortunetly that was all that was left. He said not to worry about it...it will do what I want it too...I trusted him, so he drilled it. I could not believe how the ball reacted. i was in awe. it was insane the reaction I got out of it. I got rid of my NVS to get this ball. I was not happy with that ball. The total NV was much stronger! You cant go wrong with this ball!<s

The layout - I laid this ball with the pin 4 inches from my PAP and the Mass Bias in the 45 degree location. By keeping the pin below my fingers, this put my CG in the thumb quadrant. This gave me extra side and thumb weight. I placed the weight hole from the center of my grips threw the cg. The weight whole was placed at the intersection with my vertical axis line (VAL). Oil Pattern - I tested this ball on our Freshly Oil House Shot. We have a heavier oil volume than most house patterns. I also did some testing at a local tournament, which was a house pattern with less oil than our normal house shot. Review - While testing in my home center, I first threw the ball in box condition and then polished with High Gloss Factory Polish by Brunswick. In box condition, this ball was clean threw the front and started to pick up roll in the midlane. At the breakpoint, the Blast Zone made a smooth controllable arc to the pocket. In the box condition this will be best on Medium to a l
