OPTIMUM-FLIP SOLID COVERSTOCK The Optimum-Flip Solid coverstock is Brunswick’s newest innovation in performance enhancing additive chemistry. Optimum-Flip is a new coverstock that preserves more axis rotation, more rev rate and more ball speed for the backend to generate the highest Angular Velocity potential of any Brunswick coverstock to date. The new Optimum-Flip Solid coverstock incorporates a new base reactive along with our additive technology to create an outstanding Skid Flip ball motion for the Brunswick product line. CORE The Aura Ultra Low RG core features a single density rounded-off elliptical inner core. The core is dynamically designed to extend the rotational energy, boosting angular velocity to transfer energy to the pins for increased pin action and higher scores. BALL MOTION The Aura begins a new age of ball motion for Brunswick never seen before. Outstanding length, super quick response to friction with the most continuation on the backend of any previous Brunswick ball. The Aura with its Rough Buff finish, maintains the highest amount of Angular Velocity at the breakpoint when compared to other previous balls on medium to heavy oil lane conditions.

60° x 4 7/8” x 35° I decided to lay this ball out like my NeXus f(P+F), since I laid out both my NeXXus f(P+R) and NeXXXus f(P+S) like the Ulti-Max, I was missing that reaction in my arsenal. This Aura’s shape definitely reminds me very much of my NeXus f(P+F), however, the NeXus was a little more aggressive in the midlane, and the Aura is a little more aggressive in the back, which is to be expected b/c of the box finishes. I practiced with this ball this evening in a center that is a lot tighter than most, even on the house shot. This Aura had no problems gaining traction and making the corner. It didn’t snap like it did in some of the other centers, but I wasn’t expecting it to. It did, however, carry just as well as the other, not as tight, centers. I am really excited to try this on some medium length patterns because that is where the NeXus really shinned for me, and I can’t wait to see it make a mockery of the patterns like the NeXus did. 85° x 5 1/4” x 40° I’ve been looking for a ball to replace my 85° Wicked Siege for a while now, and this ball has definitely done that. My Wicked Siege easily got down the lane and made a smooth move towards the pocket and carried well. However, I ran into trouble when I needed to get in early to start and there was still a good amount of volume. This is where the Aura fit perfectly. It got down the lane just as clean as the Wicked Siege, but made a much stronger move and carried much better, where the Wicked Siege would, at best, plaque a 7 pin. Bowling on the Shark pattern this week in league, this Aura was the best option for the entire night, as the 60° Aura didn’t get down the lane quite as clean as this one, which is not surprising. Comparing the Aura to my 65° x 5 ¼” x 35° NeXXXus f(P+S), the Aura made the corner much better and carried. In terms of strength on the fresh, it would go Aura --> NeXXXus --> Wicked Siege. I plan on having this ball in my bag for a long time to come, esp. with how long the Wicked Siege stayed in the arsenal, and this ball is a vast improvement upon it. --The opinions expressed are solely those of the writer and not of Brunswick Corporation--
